(February 12, 2008) – Epic Games, Inc., one of the world’s leading developers of cutting-edge computer and video games and the pioneer of the award-winning Unreal Engine, today announced that its Unreal Engine 3 technology and tools will be used for unannounced games in development by 2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO).

Somebody could have guessed that Gears of War would dethrone Halo 2 as the most played game on XBOX Live, but I don't think anybody thought it would happen this quickly. Yup, that's right, just a week after it's release Gears of War is the most played game on XBOX Live, even if you're looking at both original and 360 titles. Congrats Epic.

This installment of "A Taste of Gears of War" looks at the chainsaw gun. Is this the energy sword, but for Gears? Well, for the most part yes, but there's a fair bit more skill involved since there's no lunge. You might have seen a chainsaw kill in gears once or twice if you're the casual games observer, but if you've played Gears on multi, you've no doubt seen your fair share of massacres. We've taken the liberty of compiling some of these kills so those of you without the game (or those of you who enjoy seeing things get cut in half repeatedly) can see the kill to end all kills.
