The G4 show Xplay, where the strangely attractive Morgan Webb and the ever-amusing Adam Cessler review and tell us all about a few games per week, will be coming to Xbox Live for download on a weekly basis. No word on pricing or availability, but we expect official info soon.

This video shows a sneak preview of the MS dashboard game install procedure. The video maker installs GTA IV to his Xbox360 HDD, and it fades out and back in, so we are not sure how long it took to install the full 6.9gb. You can briefly see the other features of the dashboard as the video maker goes through the menus.

We spoke with two users who were mysteriously banned from Xbox Live over the last day or two, and this is what they told us. When they called MS to find out just what happened, it was explained to them that the "mechanism" which bans users who mod their hardware for piracy had apparently been left unattended for a bit, and started banning innocent users without supervision. The phone reps have apparently explained this to a few users, although we are not sure if this is true, or simple an MS excuse, or something else entirely. It does seem a bit strange though to admit wrongdoing if you have not done anything wrong at all. MS explained that it also only affected people who had Live from the original Xbox, then switched to the Xbox360. Considering MS unbanned the users we spoke with, this seems legit, folks. (Thanks, SlAddict)Update: If you get banned from Xbox Live for no reason with the modded console code (W:0000-000B X:0000-F001 Y:00A8-6820 Z:8015-190D) the reinstated users said to call right away.

Well, earlier this month ArsTechnica reported that their mole told them a price cut was coming to the Xbox360 arcade unit to $199. Well, one of our reader sources sent us these images of the in-house computer of a store that he wished not to be named. On these screens, you can clearly see the Xbox360 price for the Arcade bundle SKU at $199.99, starting on September 7, 2008 (9/7/08). We will rumor mill it for now, but this is just about 100% assured. Just thought we'd pass it along in case you had not seen them yet, as a lower price is always good news.(Thanks xCHRISx!)

It looks like the Halo movie project may not be totally dead. According to LatinMovieReview, a new script for a prequel movie (based on the Fall of Reach novelization), is being penned by Stuart Battie (the man behind the Pirates of the Caribbean). Apparently the script's got Hollywood so hyped up that artist Kasra Farahani (Spider-Man, Hancock) has even created concept art for the film's eventual pitch to Microsoft. Stay tuned!

Apparently the famous ArsTechnica Microsoft mole is at it again. this time they are predicting price cuts for all Xbox360 hardware, come September. The arcade unit will run $199, the Pro (60gb) will run $299, and the Elite will be $399. Good news, if true, but the AT mole is usually dead on. Still, rumor mill for now.

Of course, it is going to be a while before we see the Playstation 4, but according to Forbes (and common sense), Microsoft and Nintendo have almost certainly started work on the next generation of game hardware. Even though developers are only just finding out what the PS3, 360, and Wii can really do, the battleground of the next-next-generation is shaping up. No one is talking specifics yet, according to Forbes, the behind the scenes framework is being put in place already. Great news, may be within 1.5 years we will start hearing the whispers. the Forbes article is an interesting read this evening, check it out.
