The demo for the much anticipated Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo weighs in at 1.07gb, so start grabbing it now. Also, Major Nelson sends word that the e-mails for those who got accepted to the New XBox Experience Preview Program started going out a little while ago. If you do not have it by tomorrow, chances are you missed the cut.

Mirror's Edge, a game we are really looking forward to, finally has a demo date confirmed. Tomorrow, it will be available on the PSN store, and on Friday, it will be available on the XBL Marketplace. The demo will include the tutorial, and a snippet of the single player mode. We really hope the game play holds up, this could be a real breath of fresh air.

Gizmodo has posted a very long and thorough review of the new Xbox360 dashboard. You can read all about it, and they say that it really is a great improvement. Check it out for yourself.

Speaking to Videogame247, a representative from Lionhead Studios revealed that the secret title currently under development will be revealed early next year. Peter Molyneux, the head man at Lionhead, has already stated the game will be revolutionary, and may end up on the cover of "Nature" magazine. Sounds damn intriguing to us.

Just FYI, folks, as we told you yesterday, the demo for Tomb Raider Underworld is now available on the Xbox360 marketplace. It weighs in at 1.27gb, so start the fairly large download ASAP.

The GH World Tour downloadable content has already begun, it seems. On November 13, 2008, songs from the late, great, Jimi Hendrix, as well as the ban The Raconteurs will be available for download for around $5 USD. Click read more for the full info.

Tuesday 28th October/... The Raconteurs and Jimi Hendrix will both take to the virtual stage this November as downloadable content in Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) Guitar Hero® World Tour, the company announced today.

Apparently, the instrument accessories bundled with Guitar Hero World Tour are not as quality as gamers would have hoped. Over at the official GH forums, there were so many complaints about downstrumming not responding after a few hours (Rock Band guitars have the same issue, actually), as well as other issues with the other instruments, that Activision now has a URL posted for gamers to contact with their issues. On top of that, PS3 owners gave found that the GH drum set is not recognized by Rock Band 2, even though it is supposed to, apparently. A patch is likely forthcoming on that one, though.

Eidos has revealed that on October 28 there will be an Xbox360 demo of Tomb Raider Underworld. The demo features a chunk of the Thailand locale.

Yesterday, Major Nelson announced a preview program for the New Xbox360 Experience (the new dashboard). Think beta test, more or less. Well, it seems the slots filled up faster than Major thought, and as an update to the original post, Nelson has posted that the slots are now all taken. Microsoft now has to choose from the thousands of applicants, who will be lucky enough to preview the new Dashboard OS and features. Good luck if you applied.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Cliffy B. discussed why even pure action games like Gears of War 2 still need story to motivate. He reiterates why it is important to give the user the choice -- if they want to skip all the cutscenes, they can. He goes on to say though that it helps to grab the gamer within the first few scenes with a compelling tale. We tend to agree.
