Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is not doing as well as it should be on the PC, at least according to Ubisoft. A pirated version of the game leaked on to the internet about two months before release, it seems. and Ubi claims that seriously cut into sales. Ubisoft is now suing the PC game duplicator for apparently allowing an employee to take a copy of the game home and post it on the internet. Ubisoft alleges that security measures agreed upon by the dupe company were ignored, and had the protocols been adhered to, the leak would have never happened. We will see what happens with this one, but if the allegations are true, that is one heck of a breach for a duplication company.

In an interview with ProG, Assassin's Creed creative director Patrice Desilets, has revealed that both the Xbox360 and PS3 versions of the game are suffering from their own separate technical issues. For the MS console, Ubisoft is having problems fitting all the game data onto the DVD9 format that the XBox360 uses. On the other hand, the team is worried that the PS3 version will not be as good as the XBox360 version because the team is "really struggling right now on PS3" because of memory problems specific to Sony's console. Looks like the final version may not be what we all expect.

Over at GT, there is a video interview posted with Jade Raymond from way back at TGS. She speaks about Assassin's creed, and says even though there is no demo forthcoming, the game will feature 40+ hours of playtime. Good, we say, it has been a long time since we had a game with 20+ hours!
