The new racer rfom Codemasters, GRID, is the spiritual sucessor to DiRT. As we all know, DiRT was a fantastic offering, and this new racer even have an entirely new upgraded engine, so it will look and play even better. IGN got the chance to go hands on with the game, and they sound pretty impressed. The game will be out in June, and if it is anywhere near as good as DiRT, we are in for a real treat.

The demo for the upcoming shooter Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo is large, coming in at 1.24gb, so start downloading now. This game depicts the Third Reich's version of New York, a surreal look at what would happen if things went differently earlier this century.

Codemasters is preparing a new "blockbuster" MMO for the world, which will be revealed in the next couple of months. At the company's Connect 2008 online gaming event on March 14 and 15, the game will finally be unveiled. Another MMO? Can the market handle it?

Codemasters is using the new EGO engine for two of their anticipated upcoming game -- Operation Flashpoint 2 and GRID: Race Driver. This engine is the evolution of the technology that powered the fantastic DiRT Colin McRae game that was recently released. Can't wait for these two games!

Prepare to confront evil and then blast its face off as Codemasters announces the release of the Clive Barker's Jerich playable demo. The demo is now available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Games for Windows demo available from www.codemasters.co.uk In Europe and PAL territories, the demo will be available for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system on October 4th from PLAYSTATION Network.

Codemasters has refused to edit their upcoming horror game Jericho for its Germany release. As you may or may not know, Germany has some of the harshest laws concerning violence in video games.

"Following a review by the USK ratings board, which declined to give an official rating, Codemasters has decided not to change the artistic vision of the renowned author and film-maker Clive Barker though cuts and extensive changes," said the company in a statement sent to GamesIndustry.biz.

This means that the only version that will be available in Germany will be the PC incarnation. Let's hope it is worth playing huh?

Everyone at Codemasters, especially those who worked directly with Colin McRae, is deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events of this weekend.

The loss of Colin McRae is deeply distressing. That it involved his son and another so young makes it even more tragic. Our thoughts are with his family and those closest to him and we share in their pain.
