It is not often we get to use our DC category here, so this is good news. Wind & Water Puzzle Battles is being released for the good old Dreamcast! The puzzle game was first released on the Korean GP2X handheld. If you order from the website in the first two weeks, you can even get your own personalized avatar programmed right into the game. Check it out, and live on, Dreamcast! You can see the game in action below.

On March 31, 2008, Sega Direct, the Sega online shop for Japan, will cease operations after 8 years. It was started back in the DC era, and has served many a gamer since then. We salute you Sega!

The outspoken Peter Moore is at it yet again. WQhile speaking to NextGen (in a very long interview). When asked about the PS3's woes, Peter Moore said:

“I’ve walked a mile in those shoes,” he says. “I’m digging up my tortured past here, but remember Dreamcast?” And there it is. PlayStation 3 is Dreamcast. How delicious is that?"

Delicious indeed, Petey. You can bet this quote will make the rounds, and would have already if not for the news of the Halo 3 Crackdown beta delay that is taking place as you read this.

Believe it or not, there are still Dreamcast games being released. Yet another 2D Shooter, this one called Karous, hits Japanese shelves today. Dreamcast, the little console that could. We have some screens at the link as well.

It seems that Sega is officially stopping production of GDROM discs in February. This not only means no more Dreamcast games will be made, but since they are the sole producer of the discs, it also means no more NAOMI arcade games (the machine runs on a GDROM disc, partially). Games like Ikaruga, Border Down, Puyo Puyo Fever, and even the new Dynamite Deka EX. Dreamcast Scene is asking people to petition Sega to help the GDROMs hang on a bit longer, check the link for details.

According to GWN who have obtained images of an early prototype Dreamcast control pad, the Nintendo Wiimote is a partial rip-off of said prototype. Now, of course, this seems like a bunch of bull honkey to us, but you decide. Rumor mill.

It seems that the folks who are making Cool Herders, the Dreamcast sheep puzzle game, have released a demo you can download. The game is fun, we tried it, if you can get the game cheap and you still have a working Dreamcast then do so. (Thanks, Hso)
