The team behind GRAW, one of Ubisoft's most popular titles, has told GI that the PS3 is not harder to develop for. In fact, they claim that the system is no harder to work with than the Xbox360 was when it first came out. This should put to rest the age old "PS3 is harder to develop for" argument.

"It's wrong to say it's harder to code on the PlayStation 3, it's just something that needs to be learnt," said Yann Le Tensorer, co-founder of Ubisoft's Tiwak studio and co-creator of the Yeti engine powering GRAW and the upcoming Beowulf game.

We normally would not post a hands-on from another site, but GRAW 2 is an exception. IGN has new media and a ton of info on the game, and it is worth checking out because it looks fantastic.

The first details of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 were in this month's edition of GameInformer, and we have summarized them for you. Click read more for the full details.

The game is being developed by Red Storm and Ubisoft Paris, and has been in development
since GRAW was released. GRAW2 will have dynamic weather conditions, sandstorms to howling rain, with subtle details such as after a rain storm the mission area glistens with moisture and features standing pools of water, There will also be blowing wind. Sounds awesome. On top of that, GRAW 2 will feature object translucency Which will allow players to see through surfaces like leaves and fabrics under the right conditions. "God Rays" will also be part of the game. For those who do not know, this is a graphical technique that simulates the way light goes around an opaque surface. God Rays allow the player to see the limits of light, creating the hard edges rays of light often seen pouring through cathedral windows, for example. New smoke effects will be added, specifically one called the depth sprite. Thie technique makes smoke particles move over and around objects like an actual gas, elminating the hard lines you see between clouds and surfaces that crop up in most games. Of course the smoke reacts to light and wind. All this and imporved particle effects will make up the bulk of the graphical improvements.
