According to a statemnt by John Carmack, one of gaming's legendary figures, iD software's new main weapon of choice will be the Xbox360. How on earth Microsoft got him to not only decide this but openly promote it, is a mystery. This is going to sway more than a few PC industry people.

ID has released some new screens from the upcoming multiplayer game Enemry Territory: Quake Wars. The game looks great, in fact it is likely the best looking game to come out of the ID development team in a long time. The game is still built on the Doom3 engine, but it has been tweaked to the max. This outdoor multiplayer game that includes vehicles and many other forms of transportation is doing well said Westwood. Apparently one of the key changes is the addition of the "megatexture," something that Carmack himself came up with. It is basically a way to cover 32,000 pixels square with one trexture. This translates into entirely unique landscape from start to end. Finally, this may be the game that puts ID back on the map. They are innovating once again, thankfully. To read more info click on the link and to see the great looking screens, click on the news title.

There's a Doom movie interview on TwitchGuru with id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead. They speak about the process of getting the Doom movie made, boring stuff. Here's the juicy part. In the interview, Hollenshead mentions that id is looking to get Wolfenstein made into a movie as well. Apparently, the Return To Castle Wolfenstein game script is ready-made to be transformed into a screenplay. I don't see it personally, but then again, I don't work in Hollywood.
