Kojima-San has finished showing off the latest footage from Metal Gear Solid 4. He said the game shown was all real time, and frankly, the game has received another downgrade. We know that it is playing with fire to say so, but there is no other way to say it. The good news is that the game will have a simultaneous worldwide release, so Europe is no longer screwed. Unforunately, Kojima also reiteratied the fact that not only will this game be the last time we will join Snake's story, but Kojima himself is also done with any Metal Gear games. That does not necessarily mean there will not be any more MGS games, but Kojima will not be involved. Kojima-San has said this before, and it sounds like he does indeed mean business. By the way, MGS slipped to 2008.

The recently announced Contra 4 sequel for the Nintendo DS is the first Contra game in a while. 1up has gotten their hands on a preview of the new sequel, and they give us the rundown. The game is very similar to Contra III apparently, and anyone who is a fan of the series should be able to jump right in. Great news!

Akira Yamaoka is the music and sound producer for the Silent Hill series and came to Stockholm June 2 to perform with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra for 2 nightd of "Play! A Video Game Symphony." The SPelmusik team got the chance to speak with him briefly about Silent Hill 5, and what he had to say was not encouraging.Speaking of Silent Hill 5, can you tell us anything about how the music in the game will sound?- Can I ask you a question first: have we announced Silent Hill 5 yet? No.Yamaoka laughes and then we get kind of an answer. It is still so far ahead so I have nothing in mind!Sounds like late 2008 to us. Rumor mill for now, though.

There is so much news in this rumor category, we are tempted to start a completely separate heading just for Metal Gear Solid 4 multi-platform rumors. Be that as it may though, the rumor today comes from News4gamers. N4G is reporting that Konami has apparently removed the Playstation logo from the most recent MGS4 trailer. The trailer was originally re-released to tweak some visual bugs, but it has unintentionally whipped up our community into a tizzy. Stay tuned, and "super rumor" mill for now(Thanks, WeeWee). The trailer was released on Konami's new Metal Gear 20th Anniversary website, and has quite a few noticeable differences between the original trailer which was released at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2006. The most striking of these differences is the removal of the Playstation 3 logo during the final credits, leading some gamers to believe that the game is no longer exclusive for the Playstation 3 platform. The Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer shown at the Tokyo Games Show also had its Playstation logo removed, which may indicate a pattern of change since E3 last year.
