The director, Akira Yamaoka, was originally the director for the PC version of Silent Hill 3, and he reports that the game will resemble SH2 in terms of gameplay and character behavoir. Stay tuned, more when we have it.

Apparently, Konami revealed today that they will be halting the MGS3 Susbsistence online service in North America starting on April 2, 2007. Konami thanks all the players who participated in the game, and who have supported the MGS series over the years. Konami also had this to say:The Metal Gear online tradition of stealth, action and team play continues on the PSP system with Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops with all-new characters, levels and modes of play. This leads us to believe the move is in an attempt to push up sales of the PSP MGS games.

The MGS on Xbox360 rumor just refuses to die! Here is more fuel for the MGS on XBox360 rumor fire, this time from our friends over at Evil Avatar. Apparently, one of the forum goers wives works for a marketing firms, and the questions they are preparing include:Would you like to see Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?""Would you buy an Xbox 360 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4?""On a scale of 0-100, with zero being not at all satisfied and 100 being very satisfied, how would you rate Konami's output on Xbox 360 to date?" Oh boy.

Hideo has revealed his idea for the next project after MGS4, and it isn't what you'd expect. Kojima wants to make a Zombie themed MMO title."The zombie idea I have is a bit different. Imagine a large town where half the inhabitants are zombies. Users would subscribe, get inside the town and get bitten. At that stage they become undead and can't control their character - all they can do is modify the camera angles... They'd see their character attacking humans and have to pay just to watch! The only way they could end it is by opening another account, hunting themselves down and killing themselves. Of course, the problem is that your second character can get bitten as well."Sounds interesting to say the least.

Apparently, Konami will be showcasing a new horizontal side-scrolling shooter at this years Japan Arcade Operator's Union show. The new arcade title, called "Otomedius," will feature female characters as the name implies ("Otome" is Japanese for "young lady" according to our info). You can bet this game shows up in the Xbox Live Arcade or PS3 Store lineup for 2007, or maybe even its very own retail package. Great news, thanks Konami! (Thanks, DuckRoll)

At the last ever E3, Konami revealed that a Metal Gear Solid movie was in the works, and that they were in talks with a major Hollywood studio. Well, the studio turned out to be none other than Sony. No real surprise there considering Sony and Konami have been close for years. Besides the upcoming World of Warcraft film in the works over at WB, the MG film will be one of the highest profile game to film adaptations in the near future. One final note, Sont has hinted that the MGS movie is just the beginning.
