Earlier today we reported that Lik-Sang had closed its doors due to overwhelming Sony lawsuits. Well, now Sony has come out to deny that their actions have had anything to do with Lik-Sang's closure. GameIndustry has the inside scoop, check it out.

Lik Sang, one of the worlds top game import/export houses, has announced that it is closing its doors due to Sony's winning of a lawsuit which prevents the sale of import goods outside of Japan. This is pure Sony vindicitiveness, and it is a shame that Sony chose to go ahead and force a great company like LikSang to close. Sony PR is really working wonders these days.

PRESS RELEASE

Hong Kong, October 24th of 2006 - Lik-Sang.com, the popular gaming retailer from Hong Kong, has today announced that it is forced to close down due to multiple legal actions brought against it by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited and Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Sony claimed that Lik-Sang infringed its trade marks, copyright and registered design rights by selling Sony PSP consoles from Asia to European customers, and have recently obtained a judgment in the High Court of London (England) rendering Lik-Sang's sales of PSP consoles unlawful.

Retailer LikSang, as we told you earlier, is in trouble again with Sony. A few years back Sony sued LikSang and won, thus preventing them from selling PS2 mod chips, and as we told you yesterday, Sony has now won a suit against LikSang to prevent them from selling Japanese region PSP units in Europe.

LikSang, however, did not do gown without striking a blow themselves. THey released a statement basically calling out Sony for their underhanded tactic of suing and re-filing, again and again, until the company in question has no money left ot right with. Bascially the same thing that Sony did to bleem.

"Launching separate court actions with separate claims and different judges is completely unnecessary, except for the fact that it helps reaching one single target: outspend Lik-Sang to death."
