Eurogamer got the chance to speak with Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evan. MM, as you may or may not know, is the team behind Little Big Planet, the game that Sony is pinning so many of their hopes on for the next year. Alex speaks about where the game is at now, and where it is heading. It is due for release sometime soon, so we should finally get some concrete answers for a change.

Well, today Sony has given us a bit of a black eye in the LBP across the world department. It seems the servers are not only going to be region-specific, but also locked so that gamers have to stay within their region. We suppose this more or less kills the worldwide sharing appeal of the game, huh?

Sony is really pinning a lot of hopes on the upcoming Little Big Planet. Producer Eric Fong, speaking to GI, explained that the target audience is "everyone," from the casual gamer to the hardcore."It's going to be a hardware seller. Not only do you have the platforming experience that a lot of other games will have, you have this creativity that really is exclusive to LittleBigPlanet."What really gets us is that Sony has yet to really explain just what the game is all about. Hopefully we will get some sort of preview soon.

Sony is going to be offering different pre-order bonuses for Little Big Planet, and the PS blog has the rundown posted. Strategy guides, patches, and a sticker book, help fill out the list. Sony is really putting a ton of hopes on this game. We certainly hope it pans out, for all our sakes.

It seems that Little Big Planet has an official release date, at least in Japan. According to the official website, October, 30 2008 will see the game's release. If this date holds true, we surely hope it means simultaneous worldwide.

LBPCentral has psoted their hands-on impressions, complete with video, of Little Big Planet for PS3 from ComicCon. The hands-on is a bit biased since the website is a fan-based site, but it does have some good info.

As we told you, Eurogamer hosted the live Little Big Planet Q&A session. The user submitted questions and answers are all posted now over at the blog page. Some of the information sounds really promising, and Sony is really putting a ton of their fall hopes on this game. Time will tell if that was a wise move. One of the more disappointing questions is below.Obli asks: A boring one I'm afraid! Does the game run at 60fps or 30fps? 720P or 1080p?David Smith: 30fps at 720. The game uses a lot of filmic techniques like depth of field and motion blur, so this fits the game pretty well.

The MTV multiplayer blog has 5 new details on the upcoming Little Big Planet that we keep hearing so much about. Apparently, the game just keeps getting better and better. Technical director Alex Evans reveals the features to MTV, and they include how the enemies work, screen shot tools, and how the game turns levels into rhythm games, among other things. Seems a bit less impressive to us than MTV thinks, but check it out yourself.

Gametrailers has posted a 3-part preview walkthrough of the upcoming Little Big Planet. The game, frankly, looks incredible. This may be the title that puts Sony on their upswing, officially. Check out all three parts.

Sony has told GI that it expects LittleBig Planet to achieve greater sales than even Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. GT5P became the fastest selling PS3 game to date when it was released last month, and it also boosted PS3 sales by 14%. Pretty high expectations."We're hoping sales will be higher than GT5 Prologue," revealed David Reeves, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
