Midway has confirmed the final two unannounced wrestlers for TNA iMPACT!, the highly anticipated video game based on the fastest growing professional wrestling brand in the world and its flagship program TNA iMPACT!. James Storm and Robert Roode, the current TNA Tag-Team Champions and better known as Beer Money, have officially been announced as the final two wrestlers in the game's 25-man roster.

Earlier today, Gamasutra reported that Midway was laying off workers. Well, Midway has confirmed layoffs from the Austin studio, and they have also announced the cancellation of an unannounced project. Between 90 and 130 employees will be seeing the dreaded pink slip. This is the first step in Midway';s plans to reduce costs due to poor sales and recent high game costs. The studio itself will remain open, though, to host the company's Central Outsourcing Group, while two teams there will continue work on "unnamed prototype projects" that Midway notes are both new IP. In case you missed it, Midway has announced the Mortal Kombat Collection for PS2. The anthology will include Mortal Kombat: Deception, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. The game, as we said, will be a PS2 exclusive. Click read more for the full info.

Ed Boon spoke with Gametap about the upcoming Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. Many MK fans have written off the series with this latest game announcement, but this information in this interview is pretty interesting. If done well, this could make a great game.

It turns out that the rumor we brought you yesterday may indeed be correct. There is now a teaser image for Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe that has surfaced, and MortalKombatOnline has posted it (it is a tad dodgy, though). Rumor mill still, but it sounds like MK8 and MKVDC are one in the same. Stick with GR folks, we bring you the news first.

Of course this is strictly rumor mill for now, but according to MortalKombat.org, not only is Mortal Kombat 8 in development, but there is also an MK Vs.DC Universe title in the works as well. The latter is aimed at a younger audience though, which may mean it is heading to Wii. Stay tuned, more info when we have it.

Midway haws announced that CEO David Zucker is resigning his post, effective immediately. Zucker is being replaced by Matthew Booty (great name!) in the meantime until a new permanent CEO is chosen. Tomorrow, check GI for the last interview given by Zucker as Midway CEO. Good luck to David!
