Folks, if 2008 is not the year us 2D fighting fans got our last hurrah, then there will be no year for it at all. The new King of Fighers XII game is not only completely hand-drawn, but the sprites are all high-res as well! This means the animation is of Guilty Gear quality or better! Way to go SNK. Couple this game with Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, the new Arc game BlueBlaze, and Street Fighter IV, and you have one hell of a parting shot for 2D figher fans. 2008 should keep us busy for years to come!
