Gamedaily spoke with Sega America VP Sean Ratcliffe about the Wii, Sonic, the iPhone, and a few other things. Ratcliffe, when he spoke about Sonic, admitted that the franchise is really suffering, as of late. He also stated that it is hard to keep a long-running franchise like Sonic fresh, but that they are definitely looking for new ways to innovate. Ratcliffe promises that Sonic Unleashed is going to bring the Sonic franchise back into the light, so to speak. There are many innovations and fresh additions, he claims, and it will truly be a next-gen 3D game with classic 2D game play. We hope so, Sega.

According to a classification request in Australia, a new Sonic game is apparently being published by Nintendo. No word on what exactly the game is, but some say the title has a resemblance to a Fire Emblem character. Do we smell crossover? Rumor mill for now.

You heard it here first folks, just now at the MS press conference, they revealed that tonight both Golden Axe and the Original Sonic the Hedgehog will be available on Xbox Live Arcade. Grab them as soon as they are up, hopefully within a few minutes of the conference's end!

It looks like there may be another Sonic Rush game in the works. Sega has trademarked the name Sonic Rush Adventure. Of course, Sega neither confirms nor denys the new title. Rumor mill for now.

In case you missed it, here is a quick reminder folks. The Sonic The Hedgehog next-gen demo is now available for your downloading pleasure on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo weighs in at a measly 314MB, so grab it if you have not already.

Peter Moore announced at the "Xbox 360 Media Briefing" in tokyo that Sonic the Hedgehog and Tenchu Senran will hit the xbox live marketplace sometime between the 22nd and the 24th September as playable Demos!. Let's hope he wasn't just talking about the japanese marketplace.

Sega has released screens from four of their upcoming Playstation 3 games. Three you have likely heard of already, one of them though may be new to you, Sega Golf Club. The golf game actually looks pretty decent, though we doubt it will see a stateside release. Still though, if the PS3 holds to be region-free, it will be nice to have a non-super-deformed option for golf on the PS3.

Sega has released 10 new screens from the next-gen Sonic incarntion. The screens look just as good as the last batch, the game is still a visual feast. Check it out.

Sega sends along about thirty screens from the next-gen Sonic The Hedgehog game. The screens look great in some shots, jsut ok in some others. We will let you decide which.

We hope everyone had a great 4-day weekend here in the US, for now it is time to get back to work! According to GI, Sega is planning to have both Sonic and Full Auto 2 for launch day on the Playstation 3. Full Auto 2, as you know, is a confirmed PS3 exclusive.
