Lucasarts and Bioware are set to announce their secret project on October 21. The rumors suggest that the game is a new Knights of the Old Republic MMO game, around the same time peroid as the stand-alone games., and in the same game universe. At Lucasarts' San Francisco office on October 21, 2008, all our speculation will be reward, although this game is likely the worst kept secret in the industry right now. Only a little longer, stay tuned!

Bioware's recently discovered Knights of the Old Republic MMO game is set to be officially unveiled later this month, according to CVG. This game, perhaps the industry's most-talked about "secret," has been in development for over two years now. No link with any of the other Bioware companies like EA, by the way, has been revealed yet. We sincerely hope that Bioware does not botch this up. Fans may start their own Rebel Alliance if that happens, a great Star Wars MMO has been a long-time coming. SW Galaxies for the PC has its moments, but it is no award-winner in the eyes of the gamer.

At E3, John Riccitiello admitted that EA is working on the next game in the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic series. And it will have an MMO component."We've got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development," said Riccitiello. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. "And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about -- in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it."There it is, folks. The cat is finally out of the bag.

Well folks, it looks like the rumors from about a month ago were true. Key members of the Force Unleashed team have been fired by Lucasarts, and just as they finished the game. These are developers who have worked on such legendary titles as X-Wing, Full Throttle, and even Grim Fandango. On top of that, the current team is said to be insufficient to handle a sequel, should the need arise. Just what the heck is going on over at Lucasarts? With the new Clone Wars movie and TV show coming in less than two months, you would think Lucasarts would need a crack dev team to make games to go along with the release, and according to the media and buzz, The Force Unleashed team was exactly that. Stay Tuned.

Gameplayer in Australia got the chance to go hands-on with a current version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. This was during an event held for the press to check out the current version of the game. It seems the new title is really living up to its hype. Good to hear.

Even though there was an official statement made a week or so ago to dispell any KOTOR MMO rumors, today, we have even more speculation running rampant. Suppsedly, leaked portions of a script from a "Star Wars Online" video game have appeared over at 1up via a "tipster." The story is apparently set in the past of the SW Universe, during the Sith era. Classic KOTOR story elements are plentiful, apparently. Rumor mill, of course, grain of salt and all that, folks.

This one is a pretty big rumor, but it warrants bringing to you. You may or may not have heard that there is a new Star Wars MMO game in the works that will launch simultaneously on PC and home consoles. It will also be released around the same time that the new Star Wars TV show debuts, just to add to the publicity. It was thought that the game may be a Knights Of The Old Republic type MMO, but according to today's news, Bioware will not be developing the game, nor will SOE, the makers of Star Wars Galaxies. We will have to wait until at least the end of this year for concrete info, we think, since this game and the TV show are not scheduled to debut until Fall 2009. Rumor mill for now, and may the force be with us all.

Ever since the world of Star Wars and the world of gaming were first combined, players have been aching to do one thing more than any other -- use a light saber accurately and entertainingly. Well, with the new information out of Lucasarts, this may just be a reality on the Nintendo Wii. As part of the Hollywood Games Summit panel, Jim Ward from Lucasarts revealed that the company has been discussing the question of a Wii saber title. Damn exciting if you ask us!In response to a question from session moderator N'Gai Croal of Newsweek asking: "What would it take to make a lightsaber game for the Wii?", Ward, who is President of LucasArts and a Senior VP at Lucasfilm, commented: "We’re all over that, and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there."

According to CVG, the rumor is Bioware has formed a new online team to create a Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic MMORPG. The report is out of the EGM rumors section, and the EGM rumors are some of the most reliable out there. The original KOTOR was a fantastic game, the second KOTOR was good but it suffered from some pacing problems and story element gaps. A KOTOR MMORPG might be great, but then again, it might step on Star Wars Galaxies' toes, which is why Lucasarts may put the kaibosh on this project asap. Rumor mill for now.
