Robert Ludlum's estate has re-acquired the rights top the Bourne franchise, following Vivendi's continued selling-off their subsidiary Sierra's assets. Vivendi picked up the franchise back in 2005, and had planned multiple titles, but only released one game this year.

The Bourne Conspiracy demo is up on Xbox Live in the following regions: Australia, New Zealand, India and North America. Major Nelson also points out that this demo will be available in Europe week. This one weighs in at 1.24GB, so get to downloading right now.

Los Angeles, CA - March 24, 2008 - Sierra Entertainment and Yahoo! today announced that they will debut part of an original soundtrack by world renowned DJ, remixer and producer Paul Oakenfold for Sierra's upcoming video game Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy™. The companies have partnered to present the world premiere of Oakenfold's score with "The Bourne Sessions," a live concert featuring Oakenfold and members of the Florida Classical Symphony, with a special performance by Atlantic recording artist Cee-Lo Green, at the 2008 Winter Music Conference (WMC) in Miami, Florida. "The Bourne Sessions" takes place at Mansion, one of Miami's newest super clubs, on March 25, 2008, with live webcasts by Yahoo! Live and through Sierra's The Bourne Conspiracy website.

Yes, we have heard this before, but yet again, a developer has revealed that the Playstation 3 has some serious issues with the Unreal Engine 3.0 that require serious Sony support to work around. Speaking to Gamasutra, High Moon VP Paul O'Connor, the developers of the Bourne Conspiracy game and Darkwatch, responded to this question:

"Do you have anything to say about the development process on doing multiplatform games?"

By stating:
"We needed a lot of support on Unreal to make it run on the PlayStation 3. We got caught in the same crunch as everybody else when [Epic] finalized Gears [Of War], so that definitely slowed down the PS3 support at the time.

The issues have been worked out hough, and apparently the game is on track. Why Sony has made it so hard to utilize the engine that is turning out to be the next-gen standard, we are not sure.

This is an announcement that has been a long time coming. Robert Ludlum's popular spy action espionage series startting Jason Bourne is going to be getting the video game treatment. The first game in the series, The Bourne Conspiracy, will be shown at this year's E3 conference in a few weeks. The game is being developed by High Moon Studios, one of Sierra's in-house teams.
