The Sims, as you may or may not know, is now the number one selling PC franchise of all time. Well, with the third installment of the game ont he horizon, CVG sat down with some of the developers over at EA to get the lowdown on The Sims 3. There will be no transfer of items or people form the previous game, as there are so many new innovations that it would not be possible -- sorry folks.

The first screens from The Sims 3 have leaked onto various spots around the net, forums and whatnot. We have culled all three The Sims 3 screens for you and put them together here, in one place. Click on the link to see them, frankly, they do not look so different from The Sims 2.

It looks like the 1up/EGM crew has scored a big exclusive. On March 18, they will reveal the first details of The Sims 3, the eagerly anticipated life-sim third installment. NEW YORK, March 10, 2008— 1UP Network announced today that its print and online properties, including 1UP.com and GFW (Games for Windows: The Official Magazine), will be revealing world-exclusive details about Electronic Arts’ highly-anticipated Sims 3. GFW, the authority in PC gaming, will be unveiling a first-look at the game in its April/May 2008 issue, shipping to subscribers now and available on newsstands March 18.

Over at the EA Sims 3 teaser website, there seems to be a message stating that we wil be treated to some sort of Sims 3 info tidbit on March 19, 2008. No idea what the info could be, but in terms of The Sims 3 it was always a questino of "when," not "if." Stay tuned!
