Here are a few real screens from the Playstation 2 Vakyrie Profile game. They look damn good for PS2, we must say. The battle shots are a bit less quality than the character shots, but still, good job Square. Devs are really utilizing the full extent of the PS2 now at the end of its life. The first trailer for the Playstation 2 edition of the new Valkyrie Profile game has been released, and it looks hot. The video shows CG story elements of the game as well as actual gameplay footage. Also, if you can read Japanese you can even get a bit of insight into the game's storyline. Both this game and the PSP remake of the the original Valkyrie Profile (VP Lenneth) will be must-owns (for RPG fans at least). Click on the news title for the video.

Square has released a slew of images of Valkyrie Prfoile: Lenneth for the PSP. This RPG and its PS2 cousin have been receiving a ton of press lately, and if you look at the images you can see the game looks like it will be a ton of old school fun. The PSP version is a semi-remake of the PS1 classic so if you never got a chance to play it the first time around, this one is for you. Click on the news title for the screens.

Famitsu had some new info on the upcoming RPG game that has causeed a stir recently, Valkyrie Profile: Slimeria. Here are the bullet points:

Whereas Lenneth (PSP Version) was sealed into Platina and lost her memory, etc., Silmeria was sealed into Alicia, but for whatever reason suddenly awoke, retaining her memory. So now there are two souls in Alicia's body. Odin of course realizes this, and sends Arlie (AKA Hrist) to keep watch over her. Because Silmeria is sealed in Alicia's body, she doesn't really have any godly powers. She can't fly all over the place. However, when she was sealed, she did already have several Einherjar with her, hence, party members. Ragnarok is not imminent, so you won't be sending people up to Asgard in this game. Other allies join your party and will be totally human. The basic battle system remains mostly the same, but improved because of 3D and so on. Valkyrie Profile has been confirmed for both PS2 and PSP, and we know the names. Valkryie Profile: Slimeria is the Playstation 2 title and Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is the PSP title. Back on the Playstation 1 there was a little RPG called Valkyrie Profile by a company called Enix. This RPG was a fan faovrite and has pretty much passed into the fond memories of gamers. Until now. A scan has surfaced on the net which is purported to be a tidbit about Valkyrie Profile 2 for the PS2. As you can imagine, this has stirred up more than a few Valkyrie fans.
