Gamasutra has a great breakdown posted today of the attach rate for first and third party game for all three next-gen consoles. The Wii takes the cake for the first-party titles, which is no surprise, Nintendo games are always the best. The third-party attach winner is the Xbox360, although it is only by less than one game. You can see the charts for yourself, it is a great article.

The legendary Shigeru Miyamoto spoke with MTV Multiplayer. He was surprisingly candid about the newest Zelda and Mario, revealing what he thought could have been done better. Apparently he then asked the interviewer a few questions, before slipping in a Punch Out! blurb at the end. Always interesting when Miyamoto speaks.

What I’ve been saying to our development teams recently is that “Twilight Princess” was not a bad game, by any means. But, still, it felt like there was something missing. And while, personally, I feel like “Super Mario Galaxy” was able to do some things that were very new and were very unique, at the same time, from another perspective, certain elements of it do feel somewhat conservative in terms of how far we branched out with design. And so this is something I’ve been talking to both of those teams about.

Apparently, the instrument accessories bundled with Guitar Hero World Tour are not as quality as gamers would have hoped. Over at the official GH forums, there were so many complaints about downstrumming not responding after a few hours (Rock Band guitars have the same issue, actually), as well as other issues with the other instruments, that Activision now has a URL posted for gamers to contact with their issues. On top of that, PS3 owners gave found that the GH drum set is not recognized by Rock Band 2, even though it is supposed to, apparently. A patch is likely forthcoming on that one, though.

Speaking to the LA Times, Reggie Fils-Aime, the Nintendo of America President, spoke about Wii production in 2007. To make the Wii more available, Fils-Aime, said the production of the console currently stands at 2.4 million units a month. This compares to 1.6 million units a month last year, an almost 33% increase. Good to know Nintendo knows a positive thing when it comes along.

the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto game an interview in London recently, and he was asked about Wii HD and Project H.A.M.M.E.R., among other things. He even hinted at some sort of big deal with the Wii in regards to HD and 3D. He mainly spoke about Wii Music, of course, but he did give some other info that will set the forums ablaze. When asked if Nintendo is planning to bring something to the market that involves true 3D gameplay, Miyamoto said that Nintendo is always trying to be as creative as possible. Miyamoto also said that Nintendo is striving to innovate, so it sounds positive. Also, when asked about the supposedly-canceled Project H.A.M.M.E.R., Miyamoto said since he is not on the dev team, he cannot comment, but he also said that when a release date is set it will be announced, and it has only been delayed indefinitely. Maybe there is hope for H.A.M.M.E.R. yet.
