This is the first of many reviews I hope to publish here at GamersReports.com the new and fresh face of unbiased Reporting in the scene.

Some back story first. A while ago, (around xmas) I acquired a GC Viper Chip. I had issues getting it to cooperate with my DOL-101 unit and various bios files out there, so it lay dormant and in pieces for awhile. One afternoon a few months ago, I downloaded a recent Cobra Bios, and Presto, GC goodness. Now.. the problem that arose immediately.. was the fact I had no intention of using mini DVD blanks for the chipped Game Cube. As I merrily burned my Princo and Ritek/Ridata Backups, I became increasingly annoyed with the fact I had a modified GameCube and was playing burns with the Shell Removed. The unit collected dust at times, and it looked downright nasty, especially when it sat amongst my Xbox Collection. So, like many of you, I took a dremel to the top of my stock GC shell, and made a ghetto (translation = butchered) hole so that I can have the shell on and play full sized DVD blanks. This worked, and had I taken more time, and planed it better, I could have done it a lot better, and even kept the lid. For a laugh.. take a look what my first few weeks with a modified GC looked like here..

Stop laughing.. it's a GameCube.. and it wasn't like it was going to get a lot of game play anyways. So.. as time went on, sure enough I wanted a better solution, plus I tired of leaving a disk in the ghetto case to prevent dust landing on the laser assembly. With that said, my search for a replacement case brought me to the discover the only shell available at the time, the Hushtrap GC cases. I found their reseller at the time, plucked down some hard earned coin, and waited for the case to arrive. I figured the day the Hushtrap case would arrive I'd be a happy camper, boy, was I mistaken. I rushed to open the package. First thing I see: An Ugly Jewel.. I mean. REALLY ugly. The case plastic was thin and cheap, not much different from other shell product that manufacturer makes. Button were not very responsive, and stuck some of the time. Issues getting the lid open on occasion didn't help. Worse, with my DOL-101 I found I had to make minor case cuts to allow for a proper fit. Also.. I missed seeing the LED area. So, overall, I felt disappointment.. and maybe, slightly ripped off. Team Xtender and Team Xecuter, respectively, both made announcements that they were going to be producing Game Cube Shells. I was ecstatic. I was already pretty disappointed with the low quality Hust Trap case, so having a viable alternative was music to my ears. With my connections to both teams via the Xbox-Scene., I was soon given the opportunity to review both cases. With that said..

Welcome to my TeamXtender XCB GameCube Black Viper Case Review.
