Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has been one of the most anticipated Xbox360 released since it was pushed from the originally-planned launch day release. Ubisoft said this was to facilitate some game tweaks and fixes, and it looks like it worked. Now, the game is not without fault, but is it worth your hard-earned money? Let’s find out. First of I need to tell you right off the bat that if you are going to pass the 360 version by and get the Xbox version only then you will be missing out bigtime. The games are different enough that you could play both and enjoy both as separate titles. The list of additions and improvements in the Xbox360 version of the game is too long to get into, but believe me when I tell you, it is worth getting the next-gen version. This time around the year is 2013, and you are in charge of the ghost unit in Mexico City. There has been a military coup and both the Mexican and the American president are in jeopardy. Your mission is to secure these men and more, I won’t spoil the story for you. Ubisoft says that the weapons and technology included in GRAW are what the military will be using by 2012, if that is true American will be a force to reckon with. GRAW is basically two games in one. The single player campaign is pretty much head and shoulders different than the multiplayer component. The multiplayer game is much more like the old school Ghost Recon multiplayer modes of old, so all you GR fans out there do not worry. The single player game, however, is a brand new experience that is worth playing through. Not to mention that even on normal the game is ridiculously difficult at times. I tried the hard setting as well and let me tell you, if you value the hair in your head, play on normal folks. |
