The head Nintendo man Satoru Iwata said he believes Nintendo is in a position to rescue the Japanese video games market. This is despite the fact that the Wii is losing its lustre in Japan, with sales at their all time low. Iawata says that no price cut is planned, though. He is confident that the Wii can match the Playstation 3's growing momentum in Japan, and retake the top spot. Time will tell if he is correct.

Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile developer Tri-Ace, as we told you, put up a teaser website for a new RPG. Well, as per usual, Famitsu has pre-empted the official unveililng with some of the details. The game is called End of Eternity, and will be a collaboration with Sega. This also marks the first RPG that Tri-Ace has not partnered up with Square-Enix on. The Famitsu article says the game should see release in Japan on Xbox360 and Playstation 3 before the end of the year. The game takes place in the massive machine-city of Burzel, where life revolves around an all-inclusive monotheistic religion. Battles are semi-real-time, and the gameplay itself is based on a hex grid. Parties can contain up to three members at once. More info when we have it, the official full site opens tomorrow.

Bungie has finally released the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack. For 800 MS Points, you get a new slew of achievements, new maps, and more. The download is swamped, but it should go relatively fast. As for getting online, thats another story. Have fun.

It looks like Sega is planning to bring the classic Shinobi to the Xbox Live Arcade. As you can see from the ESRB, the title is just Shinobi, so we assume it is a port of the arcade classic. Could it be a new game? Sure, but we doubt it. Either way, though, it is great news.

Ubisoft's yearly expo Ubidays, the event where all the Ubisoft titles for the year are displayed and previewed, has been axed as the global recession hits. Ubisoft will be using E3 to show off its upcoming titles this year, it seems. Ubidays was a small event, but for the last two years, it was one of the more classy promotional expos. In fact, last year, it was held at the world famous Louvre museum. Hopefully Ubisoft will bring back Ubidays in 2010.

Nintendo has finally confirmed a date for Wii Sports Resort, the Wii Sports sequel that is made to work with the Wii MotionPlus accessory. The game will be released in June in Japan, with an "overseas" release following, sometime in July. It is expected that the game will be released along with the Wii MotionPlus peripheral, but Nintendo did not mention the hardware in the announcement at all. We wonder what exactly is going on with this blasted Wii MotionPlus. The rumors of problems are piling up.

THQ recently put Big Huge Games on the chopping block. Because of this, the projects that the studio was working on have been leaked to the public, maybe in hopes of finding a buyer for the half finished games. The first was for Wii, and was called God: The Game. Talk about an ambitious title. The game was a cross between Zelda, The Settlers, and Animal Crossing, apparently, and it "looked cute." The second was a more serious endeavor called Ascendant. his game was an epic fantasy RPG for Xbox360 and Playstation 3. This game was further along than the Wii title, and even had a rough cut trailer prepared. Hopefully a buyer picks up one or both of these games.
