WiiMotion Plus Took Developers By Surprise >
2008/07/23 12:00:45: Posted by DM
Nintendo's announcement of the 1:1 WiiMotion Plus Wiimote add-on apparently took developers by surprise, according to GameInformer. The general feeling among developers seems to be one of "betrayal." A strong word to use, for sure, but they all said they had no advance notice of the device, and were as surprised as everyone when it was announced at E3. This means gamers will not see third party support for the device for at least 6-9 months, and any games currently in development have to be retro-fitted to support it, if need be. Sounds like more work for nothing, we would be a bit upset too.

I swear Nintendo f*cks 3rd part developers over in the same manner that Microsoft does with Windows.

Nintendo almost seems content to make money off thier last generation hardware and first party games.

I have noticed that most of the 3rd party games suck a$$ for the Wii. Yet 1st party titles are usually better quality and sell better.

Nintendo needs to support the 3rd parties better otherwise it will be like the past 2 generations with the N64 and Gamecube. The Wii console is selling like hotcakes no doubt, but software sales suck...
