First PS3 2.5 Firmware Details >
2008/08/26 10:18:44: Posted by DM
CVG has some of the first details on the new PS3 2.5 firmware. It will apparently include an option for screengrabs, which is great for websites like us. No word on exactly how this will work, but we assume it will be saved to the PS3 HDD and accessable via the network or XMB menu. Rumor mill for now since Sony has not even announced this update yet, but it sounds legit.

Okay seriously this sounds perfectly amazing !

If somehow SONY says something about recording while playing, even BETTER !!!

Can you imagine how much videos you will see on Youtube, not to mention it will be shown a lot how amazing players are, reminds me of unreal tournament...

where they show u the best players and the best shot!!!

THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED FOR PS3 when I first bought it!!!

Here is a question, how many Firmware will take before Killzone 2 come out.

F@gTiger, I like your idea, its sounds like something I would be interested in. But that doesn't change the fact that your still a F@g that judge this gaming generation by experiencing games on one console.

excuse me games and features.

If they could make in-game XMB work faster that would be a good start.

Also would be nice if they could allow you to edit your settings while in game for bluetooth, sound, video, etc..

Oh and in game invites would be the iceing on the cake.

Icing on the cake or Common sense?
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

B1ueBurneR: I wouldn't give Sony that much credit. Nothing they have done this generation displays any thing remotely close to common sense.

It would be iceing on the cake for me because those things I listed are features I really miss on PSN that Live has...

The PSN is adequate for me. 2.4(1) added the one piece of functionality I feel it had to have (in game messaging). The other stuff would be nice (and I'm sure will be added)but for free the service is pretty solid. In game invites will seal the deal, making the PSN a complete service.

Speeding up the in game xmb would be nice as well. Hopefully they can improve it in the future with more firmware updates.

You can edit bluetooth settings in game as well. I am able to switch from my headset to my ps3eye.

B1ueBurner is funny, lol!!!!

Yo i tell you firmware update seems so amazing. Pimp you might think nothing change for you, but for PS3 gamers, its going good. And yea sure it might be lots of update before Killzone 2,comes out , as long they are free and improving. You think Xbox Live has changed, then you must be a total jacka$$, I see nothing changed ever since Xbox Launch. And thats just pure lack, not even exclusive brand new games, which is total lack again!

Edit: I had to edit a curse word in your comment. 2nd time today. I'm done warning. Please bleep out the curse words. Thank you.

Sorry to hear that. I have heard of motherboards in the PS3 breaking. I have also heard of the Blu-Ray drives failing. Let me know how your tech support adventure goes. I am also curious to hear how much it cost's to have the motherboard reparied/replaced.
