Sony Cuts Earning Forecast By 57% > |
2008/10/23 8:55:53: Posted by DM | |
Sony has revealed that the earnings forecast for this fiscal year may be down as much as 57%. The company expected to make about 4.8 billion USD, but now is expected to show a profit of around 2.0 billion. Sony said this is due to the lower demand for its products, particularly the company's video game department. Sony also said the LCD TV, and digital and video camera business was lower than forecasted. The economy is affecting everything these days, it seems.

If this article was about MS or Ninty instead of Sony, there would be at least a dozen comments twisting and exaggerating this from the usual suspects. How am I not surprised that they have nothing to say about this specific topic /sarcasmSeriously, I hope some people here never change, it helps to show how pathetic some people can be.

No to be honest, the way the economy is I think it would be best to buy a PS3 over the 360. In the long run you'll save more. My Live just expired I going to purchase a PS3 because 50 is not worth it just to play with a bunch of asshole, all the other features LIve offer I don't use them AT ALL!. This is coming from someone that has been on Live since day one. Now I'm seriously looking into purchasing a PS3. The girl I'm talking to Loves her 360.. if we hook up then that where I'll be playing online. Wish me luck guys.

Sorry blue, but that's sad if you're going to decide your console of choice based on a girl. Just enjoy the system that has more games that interest you is all I ever say when it has to be just one console. I'm looking forward towards owning all the consoles and enjoying what I please how I please. ----------------------------------------------------Still waiting for some of the ps3 fanboys to come in and talk about how sony is "playing their cards right" or how 2008 is "the year of the ps3" even though the ps3 is getting outsold just about everywhere.

Xenos, I'm not picking my the console based on a girl, I'm picking it based on the ridiculous price you have to pay just pay online, what is this? the early 90's? I've finally made up my mind to get a ps3 just because of the free online gaming, MS is rapping gamers with at 50 price tag every year. Why not get it free and a free Blu-ray player while I'm on it.

thats up to you blue, and im not coming out defensive or anything, but quality and premium services have always gone on to cost.maybe if Sony had tried to get the bulk of ethe features on day one, they would be charging, bottom line is that they are not charging because it is inferfior, any other way, we might be looking at something different.and thats the bottom line

Gaming Bros. Before Gaming Hoes. come on Xenos give me some credit I got morals ok.
If they set the price to $30 a year we wouldn't be having this discussion. I really do feel raped by MS. the service its not all you put it to be. I don't all the other features except multipalyer game it doesn't add any extra to the experience, while People on the PS3 with the same are experience multiplayer games at no cost, come on AK56. I feel fucked when I compare them both.

thats you, and no onme is forcing you to go on and get anything, if you feel exploited, dont use the service.it will save you the hurt and save us the time of not reading your posts.if all you want is to play online, no chat, no talk, no stats, no friends lists or anything else that live may offer, then PSN is obviously the better bet, but if you care about all the rest then live is the option you are looking at.bottom line is that Sony is trying their best to come up with a format that can rival live, and once they get there, PSN may no longer be free........those aint my words blue, that was straight from Sony earlier this year, or late last year.if you have the time, search the news section for it

@ blue, I never said to pick the 360 over the ps3, I just said you shouldn't pick your console based on a girl. this line:"The girl I'm talking to Loves her 360.. if we hook up then that where I'll be playing online."That line led me to believe you were leaving it up to what happens with this girl to make your final desicion. If you don't use all the features from Live then sure, I can see how you don't care to pay for it. Personally I never cared about paying $4 a month for the service and honestly you're a bit insane if you really think you're getting ripped off for the service.I will say that if you think the online experience is the same on the ps3 and 360 for all 3rd party games, you're sadly mistaken. PSN is good, but there are good reasons (that have nothing to do with this topic) to why Live is better and we pay for it.
Regardless to what the sony fanboys here want to think, that's hardly an opinion.I say if you want a ps3 get a ps3 blue and screw the girl, it's a great system and as long as the missing features don't bother you then it's all the better for you in the end.
