Peter Moore, the ex-X-box mouthpiece, described E3 this year as "soulless," and has scheduled meetings between EA and the ESA in order to address the problems which plagued the event this year. Moore suggests that the actual gamers need to be invited back in some form, since they are the heart of the industry.

"We're confident that we can work with the ESA to make this right. There are important meetings ahead that we think will be substantive and be productive in finding the right path forward "

The ESA says E3 2009 will happen, despite the extensive badmouthing of this year's event. Many CEOs voiced their opinion about this year's E3, claiming that it is "broken," and it needs to be killed or "totally revamped." We tend to agree, after looking and listening to the paltry press conferences at this year's show.

We missed this one from E3, but we decided to bring it to you nonetheless. Unfortunately, it seems Gran Turismo 5 may not make it out until as late as 2010. the main GT man, Kazunori Yamauchi, told IGN UK himself, unfortunately.

David Perry, the outspoken man from Shiney Entertainment, agrees with the head of EA when it comes to E3. His feelings, indeed the general consensus of the game executives, seems to be that E3 is broken, and needs to be fixed or axed altogether. We tend to agree considering this year's show was a disappointment, at best.

"I used to bring major investors to E3 to get them excited about our industry, which worked every time. Now it's just an embarrassment.

In case you missed it, the demo for the party game Hail to the Chimp is now available on Xbox Live. It weighs in at 427MB, so grab it now.

Both the head of EA, John Riccitiello and the head of Ubisoft, Laurent Detoc, agree that E3 is just not what it used to be.

"I hate E3 like this," said John Riccitiello, Electronics Arts' CEO. "Either we need to go back to the old E3, or we'll have to have our own private events."

Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America, concurred. "E3 this year is terrible," he said. "The world used to come to E3. Now it's like a pipe-fitters show in the basement."

The show has been going through an identity crisis since it disbanded due to money reasons 2 years ago. If things stay this way, it looks like E for All will be the year's big show.

Harmonix, the company behind Rock Band, has stated that Microsoft have been great partners. Apparently, this partnership was partially responsible for the release of Rock Band 2 on Xbox360 first. The lead designer of Rock band, Dan Teasdale, said Harmonix is "not really delaying the other stuff. It's just that Microsoft have been such great partners, that we've been able to release it early on 360." This is good news for Xbox630 fans, hopefully Sony will be just as good. Above all, we hope that gamers will not have to purchase instruments again.

Well, it is official, folks. One of the most anticipated Sony PSN games, Wipeout HD, is officially delayed due to a specific "technical issue." Sony still hopes the game will make it out "before the end of the year," but it is not likely. Oh boy Sony, this is obviously why the game did not show at the press conference.

"There is a specific technical problem with WipEout that we have to solve. I can't go into details but it is a really, really tricky technical problem that no region has been able to solve at the moment," Sony Europe boss David Reeves told us when we hassled him about the game's progress this week at LA.

One of the more anticipated Xbox360 dash update features is the ability to install games to the HDD to decrease load times. Well, according to Gamespot, it will decrease the loading times by up to 30%, wow! This is from Microsoft internal testing, of course, but even a 20% increase is great. A game the size of Devil may Cry 4 took about 10 minutes to install, which is average we suppose.

According to Gamespot, there may be an update coming to PSP that adds trophy support to the Sony handheld. It was during the presentation of a PSP trivia game on the Gamespot Live show that a Sony exec divulged that the game would feature trophy awards. When asked if this meant the PSP was getting trophy support for all games, he artfully dodged the question. Sounds like its coming to us.
