Just like on PSN, it seems that full games for the DS will now be available for download via the Nintendo Wii console. According to the New York Times, Ninty may soon be planning to provide wirelessly-transferrable DS games for purchase over the net. Gamers would use their Wii consoles to purchase the titles, just like they use the PSN to purchase PSP titles, and then push them out to the handheld DS unit. No word on just what titles may be available first and when they will be available, but we do expect something soon. Also, just how the games will be stored on the DS is another question.

We all know the DS sells ridiculously well. As it turns out, Nintendo has broken its own DS sales records yet again. In the UK last week, the DS sold over 200,000 units. The exact number was 212,584, and the previous sales record for a week was 191.104. The DS, the little unit that could.

Nintendo and long-time partner AM3 have officially announced the DS Vision for the Nintendo DS, only in Japan for now, though. The unit is a slot 1 (NDS) adapter which allows gamers to download comics, books, magazines, anime, movies, and television programs to special microSD cards which are then used on the DS via the DS Vision adapter. All this for a fee of about $10 USD, how much content that gets you is unkown at this time. As we said, this is a Japan-only service for now, but if it takes off, rest assured we will see it here in the US.

Gamespot has a new hands-on posted for one of our favorite shooters here at GR, the Nanostray games for the Nintendo DS. The second installment is coming along nicely, and should be even more fun than the first. They just dont make shooters like this anymore, folks. Games like Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga come along once in a blue moon, so we really hope NS2 turns out great.

Apparently, there is a redesigned DS just waiting in the wings over at Nintendo. It will not debut, though, until the sales of the Wii and DS fall off after the Holiday season, according to Gamasutra. The resdesigned unit has no GBA slot, is thinner, and has on-board storage. Rumor mill for now though.

Congratulations again to Nintendo, the DS really just shows no signs of slowing. The little handheld that could has now passed the 4 million sold mark overseas, specifically in the UK. With Zelda out, and more great games on the way, how can $99 dollars be spent any better?
