It looks like House of the Dead 2, the upcoming movie sequel to the horrendous Uwe Boll movie, will skip a theatrical run (thank god) and debut on the Sci Fi channel. A note on the Futon Critic web site reveals that the film will premiere on Saturday Feb. 11 as part of their bi-weekly Sci-Fi Pictures originals series. Now, who wants to bet me that this low budget cable-made movie is better than the big budget Uwe Boll theatrical release?

More Star Trek related news today, according to our sources, the recently cancelled Filter and G4Tv.com shows on G4 Tech TV are going to be replaced with Star Trek. The original show and The Next Generation are slated to replace both of these shows in the coming year. This makes us think our theory that G4 is trying to turn itself into a Spike-like network for men is really true. Rumor mill for now though, as it is just from a source and not official.

Today there was a small victory for HD-DVD (who really needed one badly at this point). Computer maker Hewlett Packard has announced that not only will they support the Blu-Ray next-gen DVD format, but they will also support the HD-DVD format. They cited the integration of iHD into the new Windows Vista OS as part of the reason for the decision, as it will lower development costs. It seems we are beginning to see the fallout of MS deciding to back the HD-DVD format in this upcoming products. May be that the war is not over just yet as the Blu-Ray fans have been touting. Tell us what you think.

As you know we usually don't post movie trailers and the like unless they are especially notable. Well, this one is. V For Vendetta is the new movie by the Wachowski Brothers (from The Matrix fame). This movie based on a DC Comic has a real shot to be the best comic book movie franchise in a long time. We especially recommend the full screen version.
