Sony has quashed rumors that it may be planning to release a non-Blu-Ray edition of the PS3. We ourselves wondered how that would work, considering games come on Blu-Ray, but analyst Mick Hickey voiced speculation that a PS3 was in the works without BR functionality. It seems Sony agrees with us."That would pretty much destroy the PS3's backbone, our games were built on Blu-ray." Sony marketing manager Kim Nguyen said. "Quote that: Blu-ray will always be part of PS3."
