	Chart-Track has revealed that the sales of the PS3 in the UK have jumped up over %999 in the past week, of course outselling any other console by far. Chart-Track does not reveal actual weekly numbers, but the director of the company called the growth "a huge increase." You know if the director of Chart-Track in impressed, the sales are pretty high. It looks like the PS3 SLIM plus a slew of new Platinum Hits games are the first real smart move Sony has made in a while. >Link

Didn't this pretty much happen when they dropped the price to $400 to for a month or so?

I think we'll know better how successful this move was in January when the market has had a few months to adjust to the price change. Of course they're going to sell a boatload at launch, that's pretty much always the case for a big console hardware change.

Having said that, I hope it's a long term success for Sony. It's an awesome system and deserves to be owned.
