The "world exclusive" on the next gen Sonic game that appeared in Gamepro this month is out. While we cannot post scans, we can certainly give you the bullet points of the article. The typical Sonic character model apparently had about 1500 polygons, this time around it is as high as 1 million according to the devs. The game will also be faster than any previous Sonic game says game creator Shun Nakamura. The game will feature motion blur, you can even see it in some of the images. We like motion blur. The game will feature huge gameplay environments that have dynamic night and day cycles. As players progress, the game will cycle through morning, noon, and night, appropriately changing the lighting and the way that shadows react to in-world objects. The game will also utilize the Havoc physics engine, Gamepro mentions a sequence where Sonic faced an army of killer robots and they all went flying everywhere with "startling realism." This all sounds great, let's hope the finished product ties it all together.

Sonic hasn't had a good game since Genesis I think. sad.gif
