There arent that many 'table' games that are very successful in video game format (pinball, pool, air hockey, etc). Maybe Rockstar is on to something, but, i dont think this will be as successful as they think it will be. One thing for sure tho, it will be hyped up very much. And, are there any pictures of actual gameplay rather than cutsenes? Hoe does two player offline work?

I don't know if Rockstar has any expectations really, I don't think they're wasting away many resources so they can afford if it tanks. But yeah, the hype might hurt but only temporarily. It sounds like it could be great with elements of simon (the ball glows when you hit it so you know what type and spin your opponent hit so you can pick the right type of shot on the return) and of course reflexes. Add to it good use of rumble on the controller to indicate when you're swinging too aggresively and you have something there. How many times have you been playing soccer or hockey and wished the controller rumbled to let you know when you're offside? They took on a simple game and want to make everything about it as perfect as they can. No shame in that, and i can't wait.
