The Halo 2 ‘Blastacular Map Pack’ is now available for download over Xbox Live. This pack is US $4.00, and it contains two maps: Tombstone and Desolation. This should hold us over for 1 more month until Halo 3 Multiplayer!

i love this game and everything but this whole charging for every little thing is getting a little out of hand now :/ in the beginning they gave us 3-4 maps for free. what happened to that??????

I agree with headblackman.

But, I think they are at a point where they know it is mostly the hardcore Halo gamers who are playing Halo 2 at this point in time. Other gamers have moved on to cool new games like Gears of War, Crackdown, and Lost Planet. Most people now are looking forward to Mass Effect and Halo 3.

I guess I am wondering what happened to their game plan of using only an Xbox 360 to download those maps.

@ utp, quote from bungie about including xbox1 with the maps:

"Now, about the downloading and payment and compatibility and all that. It works on Xbox and 360. It was originally scheduled to be a 360 only game, but it just wasn’t going to work out. Number one, there are a lot of Xbox players out there who can’t afford a 360, or are waiting for a birthday or holiday gift – so they wouldn’t be able to play. Worse still, we’d have to split the matchmaking playlists differently and that wouldn’t have been fair either. So in the interests of fairness and an easy life, it’s on Xbox and Xbox 360."

I agree with UTP @H.N.I.C., I think that maps is for the hardcore. I wouldn't want it unless it was for the 360 alone. I've played it last night its still alot of Bull$h!t super shots Battle Riffles on there and annoying kids voice. That paying for everything is getting outta hand since I bought my 360 in early 06 march, I've yet to buy something from the marketplace. Ahh options so great.

did anyone notice the half-life images right after the title?

i dont understand how it makes any difference to what system it goes to when determining the intended market.

what difference would it make if it was for the 360 only? with the way they set up the MM, you would have half the people to play with if it was for the 360 only. how is that a good thing?

there is more hacked maps on the originals Xbox

Response to Kenny K:

Thank you very much for updating me on what was going on with the Halo 2 downloads in terms of the Xbox 360 and the Xbox.

Kenny K, you have earned a significant portion of respect! You did a really great job, and I rate you an A+. I give you are 102%, because you answered the questions, and you even answered some extra credit stuff. Great job!

I remember back in the day, a nice job like that would give you a ticket for an ice-cream cone at a local restaurant, but nowadays the restaurants are too cheap to do stuff like that with the students in many situations!

Response to B1uadmiral:

I have noticed the "kid voices" in a lot of games too. I remember when I was younger and considered myself a kid, and I thought, "Yeah, I am a young guy playing videogames, so I am automatically awesome!"

But, I remember when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Arcade Game was released on Xbox Live Arcade. There obviously were "kid voices," but the interesting thing was that the kids were doing the best! The kids were smarter, too; they were telling different people to collect the pizza, depending on who could use it the most. I was thinking, "man, these kids are really good leaders; I wonder if the cheesy stuff on today's versions of Transformers is paying off the way the lower ranking Transformers call Optimus 'sir.'"

I guess we may just have to live with it that those kids are pretty good nowadays.
