PGR 4 Xbox360 First Images & Info -- 200 Courses, Weather >

The first images of the fourth installment in Bizarre's Xbox360 racer, Project Gotham Racing, have been leaked. These images are from an European gaming magazine, and as you can see, it looks like Bizarre did away with the paltry 600p that PGR3 had. ON ther other hand though, Bizarre still has a bit of work to do before the graphics are complete, it still looks very much like PGR3.

In career mode, you choose the event from a large map similar to "tree" in Ridge Racer, The driving model has not changed fundamentally, but drifting is a little easier to pull off. The "pit manouver" is harder to pull off now on an enemy driver. There will be online creatable tournaments and cups. There wil be over 200 courses, yes, we said 200. There will be added weather effects in PGR4 as well -- puddles on the road while raining, tracks in the snow when it snows.

The care models now have bene built 70k-100k polygons, and feature a in-car camera that hangs a bit lower than in PGR3. Even the drivers will have more polygons because of a new "secret" feature that is yet to be revealed. There will be more spectators on tracks, they will be more interactive, better animated, and waving national flags. Finally, since PGR4 is not a launch title, Bizarre can actually focus on the game and making it great, rather than showing off new hardware.

Project Gotham Racing is a true Simulation game; it isn't fast paced like some of those Arcade style games, or the some of the Offroad racing games. The need for a 60 frames per second framerate isn't as important with this one.

I am actually a little bit confused with Halo 3. There is no need for the game to run at 1080p at 60 frames per second. I wonder if Microsoft designed Halo 3 and realized that certain things available in the single player mode would not be available in the mult-player mode at 60fps, so, they decided to make it at 30 frames per second in the multi-player mode to avoide lag...but, there was enough power left over to make the single player game 1080p with 60 frames per second. But still, Halo is a "Stop-n-Pop" slower paced game, like Gears of War; it isn't like Unreal or some of those other "Run-n-Gun" games. Halo and Gears of War only need to run at 30 frames per second. I would rather have more detail at 30 frames per second than a smoother framerate at 60. As long as it remains steady at 30 or 60, that is the important thing...but if it is capable of both, and the game is paced slow, then I would rather have 30, and more detail. I guess reasons like this are why Betas take place.

pgr IS AN race arcade game. get you fact(lies) right.

IS NOT RUNNING at 60fsp , simply because blizarre and microsoft are a bunch of untalented and lazy guys , who cant compete with polyphony.

60fps is more important than everything for simulation , just ask any decent developer.

I rather run at 60fps with poor physics and Ai , than running at 30fps , looks like a movie.

what a joke it will be that game. started as a copy of gt , end up a shadown of Rigde Racer.
