Borderlands To Require HDD On Xbox360 >
2007/08/22 8:27:47: Posted by DM
Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced at the GC that their upcoming title Borderlands would require a HDD to play on the Xbox360. The game, which he described as "Indiana Jones meets Mad Max" in a sci-fi four-player co-op first-person shooter, needs "space" says Pitchford, and he also says "there's no way you can conceive of this as a console game." This is the second game to require a HDD to play, the first being a soccer management sim released only in Europe, if memory serves.

DM, with all due respect, your memory doesn't serve you very well...Final Fantasy XI also required a hard drive to play. This isn't anything new.

hahah this is pathetic since m$ is selling 360 WITHOUT hardware. way to go guys!

lots of people will suddenly need to buy harddisks to play games :(

As time goes on, there will be more. Prospective 360 buyers, do yourself a favor and avoid the Core 360 if you want to be sure you're not limited by which games you can play in the future. It'll cost you less and you'll get a lot more.

Yeah, because a sci-fi four-player co-op first-person shooter is basically targeted at the 10% of 360 owners who bought the core pack. Get real, people who bought the core aren't gonna buy this game, any more than they would buy FFXI or a soccer management sim.

whatever hedge, go f%$# urself! u think its good to fragment ur user base? haha

that becuz, Krogan u r a game freak that get no girls

the game should come with a coupon or something which allows you to get a HDD cheaper. Doubt this would work

why not get a white elite? core for $249, 120gb HDD for $179, together its $428 before taxes, around $30 cheaper then the black elite and prolly the better deal seeing that all SKU's now have HDMI support. only downer, no wireless controller =P

Hey sticky, using actual English, explain to me how MS is fragmenting the user base.

Plus, my point is still valid, people who bought the core aren't gonna buy games that need an HDD. MS is smart enough to know this, even if you aren't.

hedge, if you cant work that out in your mind on your own there is no point. its not like you are able to be convinced of anything other than your own biased opinion so go back to what it is you do.
