	According to the 1up Q-man, the rumor monger who has stood the test of time for over 10 years now, there are going to be some very interesting game sequels comign out in 2008. Of course, all but the Skies of Arcadia are pretty much common sense, but to have them definitatly rumored for '08, is grrrrrr-8! Rumor mill for now, of course. >Link

Guaranteed "Now" Present situations are infinitely more important than Possible "Future" situations, especially considing that "Now" will change over the course of time to be an even better "Future."

With the Sega Saturn it was all about, "One day in the future," and "Next Year," and "When developers learn the hardware."

It NEVER happened!!!...and it WON'T happen with the Playstation 3.



Go look at places on the Internet that are hiring...if you can program a parallel processor like the Cell CPU, you will NOT be making videogames!!! Instead, you will be working for IBM, NASA, or other military defense contractors that link tens of thousands of processors together in a parallel environment to create simulated nuclear explosions in a virtual environment that relies on accurate physics.

Why will skilled parallel processor programmers be working for those companies instead of on videogames??? Because those huge companies working on billion dollar projects pay a LOT more money than videogame companies do!



EA pointed out today that maybe 15 years down the road there will be only one Set-Top Box that plays videogames...they said it will likely be made by Microsoft, Nintendo, Toshiba, Sony, Apple...and anyone else who wants to make one. But they will all use the same hardware--it will be a "stripped down PC."

For videogames, you need to have a hardware unit similar to the PC...and that is what the Xbox 360 is. That is why the Xbox 360 games are always the best, because the developers can easily take advantage of the hardware to make them the best.



I think there is a good chance that Epic games will work on Gears of War 2, and release the game in late 2008 for the Xbox 360.

But for God of War 3...the lead designer of God of War 2 said that the soonest you would ever see a God of War 3 game would be sometime in 2009. If Sony did decide to start working on a God of War game recently, they are only saying 2008 to try and generate hype...but in reality they know it won't be released until 2009...just like with the way Sony said the PS3 would be released worldwide in spring of 2006, but in reality they knew it would not ever be released worldwide, and didn't see a release in America and Japan until late 2006 and Europe until spring of 2007.

I can't wait for Gears of War 2. It's obviously inevitable, but i'm sure they don't want to rush it. I'm looking for it in 2009, MAYBE Fall 2008. In the meantime i'll be spending a lot of time playing UT3.

i sure hope the extra 5 chapters for Gears of War PC doesnt turn out to be Gears of War 2 for the 360 =P

lol... i'm actually kinda upset that i don't get to play the new multiplayer maps and 5 new chapter. i have a good computer but i don't think good enough for gow on the pc :(
