wow.... the king unthrowned already?!?!

I honestly don't know how anyone could play COD4 over Halo 3. There must be something about it thats to hard for "pick up and play" players. To me...It's no comparison. I felt the same about the garbage online in Gears Of War though to. Halo's gameplay murders any multiplayer game to date.

Have you tried COD4 online ? Nothing else can compare to it.

@PasPer2...Yes....I own it. IMO Nothing else can compare to Halo 3.

I think Bungie might have made it a little to hard for new players to enjoy the game. Halo is now more of a "Hardcore" online shooter for regulars of the series and COD4 is more for "pick up and play" players.

I hate games where hiding is the normal and getting shot a couple of times equals a death. It takes no real skill to sit back and pick people off with a couple of shots. COD4 is a good game don't get me wrong. I played it for a few weeks but, it just made me want to play Halo more ...LOL. Everyone has their own opinion...

COD4 takes alot of skill, now i know you get bull shited alot in that game mostly with the 50 cal, but it still takes skill, i mean i didn't get all my gold guns out of luck and they weren't givin to me. i earned them and it took alot of time and skill to get them. now i understand where you come from when you say it doesn't and i know everyone is entitled to there on opinon...but you have to understand that its more of a realistic shooter a couple of shots are going to kill sombody. its not like halo where you can pick up an overshield and you can regain your health. now i know you can a little in call of duty but still you never really last that long for it to regain anyways..Damn kids and there P90's.

COD4 is an amazing game and dont get me wrong halo is to but i would rather have a more relistic game than a just mad house crazy game like halo...cause you have to agree that halo is a run and gun, theres no time for breathing or thinking in that game, mostly on btb...

-Halo 3 is still BY FAR the "Overall" Most-Played Game-

When the comment is made about Call of Duty 4 "surpassing Halo 3 as the most played game," it is referring ONLY to the the week of January 14, 2008.

Call of Duty 4 is a game that a lot of people got as Christmas gifts, so it's no surprise that it would be so popular at this point in time.

Remember, prior to Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Orange Box, Assassins Creed, Rock Band, ect... the game that EVERYONE was playing was Halo 3!!! Halo 3 set records during that time that no other game will touch!

But each of the games I mentioned represents millions of people that previously were playing Halo 3, but decided to play a new game for a while. So, this isn't really a surprise.

But from a "cumulative" and "one-time" point of view, Halo 3 is still BY FAR the leader.

Halo will be a tough game to beat...and if none of the recent games can beat halo, all i have to say is my money is on Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Halo 3 crap it had last gen styed multiplayer, very average. i thought gears was better and COD 4 far superior i'm just glad now the better game is on top.

Halo 3 is Very average ??? If anything Halo 3 is innovative.

Please explain to me how Halo 3 is Last gen and COD4 isn't. Last time i checked COD4 didn't do anything innovative to make it true next gen. Halo added Bubble shield along with all of the other power ups. That alone is something truly innovative.

Saying Gears is better is just ridiculous IMO. The controls were clunky and the whole hide behind cover thing was pretty terrible along with horrible host advantage and horrible running. Halo is still the king !! accept it...

YES!! YESS!!! HALO3 SUCKS, I'm lucky I didn't buy the maps ,.. I've been playing COD4 for only 2 weeks and Love it more that HALO3, but everytime I play COD4, I get tempted to play the single player campaign its Addicting. you can call in Air strikes. you don't go down in ranks only up and get lots of awards.. graphics are better. It would be even better if you can use Vehicles. But the airstrikes give it justice.

Obviously everyone has their own opinion.

I agree that Gears of War had the very innovate "Reload" system that is a really fun mini-game all by itself.

I agree that Call of Duty 4 has lots of innovative stuff, too.

But Halo 3 has them beat, in my opinion. Halo 3 gives you the ability to design your own maps with the Forge. That feature alone provides INFINITE replay value.

And the 4-player Co-Op of Halo 3 is absolutely amazing. Gears of War has a super fun 2-player Co-Op mode, but Call of Duty 4 doesn't have any Co-Op mode at all.



Here's the way I see it from three different points of view:

Single Player Mode:

Halo 3 and Gears of War are both ranked higher than Call of Duty 4, because Call of Duty 4 is significantly shorter.

Co-Op Mode

Halo 3 is ranked #1, Gears of War is ranked #2, and Call of Duty 4 is unranked, because COD4 doesn't offer any form of Co-Op Mode.

Multi-Player

Halo 3 allows you to design your own levels using the Forge. That is INCREDIBLE! Halo 3 is ranked #1.

Gears of War and Call of Duty 4 share many of the same features for multi-player. Therefore, both Gears of War and Call of Duty 4 share the #2 spot.

Overall Ranking based on the three factors:

(1) Halo 3

(2) Gears of War

(3) Call of Duty 4

Halo 3 will be back on top again in no time. There is something special about Halo 3 and the different Rankings. The fact that you can go to Bungie's website and read all about yourself and your friends is AMAZING!!! The fact that I go to different Neurologists and Doctors across the state and see them once a year, yet the first thing they say to me is, "So what's your rank now in Halo 3," is pretty amazing! Only Halo offers that kind of quality!

CoD4 takes the #1 spot again from halo3 AGAIN this week. This appears to be the end of the halo era. CoD4 is indeed King.
