	This one is in the rumor mill for now, but all indications seem right on. The translation from the Japanese page at the link says Konami is making a new next-gen game in the Satan Castle Dracula series. This is Castlevania, to you laymen. It also says it was debuted at the TGS08 show. There is also a big poster of Alucard by the Konami booth at TGS this year. You can add 2+2+2, can't you? Word is, by the way, it is another 3D based game, but that is unconfirmed at this point. >Link

This would make me estatic. I'd love to see a solid 2D version as the 3D versions have been ho hum, not great, not bad. I think Konami should revisit the roots of the series. Seeing that it is likely a 3D version is kinda bittersweet for me. I'll still check it out.

Except that "revisiting" the Castlevania series is done on DS practically every year. It's the better system for it IMO.

I think "revisiting" it on a console ala SoTN style with PS3/360 graphics and sound would definitely be something many fans would be happy with. 2D doesn't have to die with console progression.

Yeah, I just saw the blurb on joystiq.com about it. Here's hoping they can improve on their recent 3D efforts. Again, I didn't hate the PS2 3D Castlevania's, there was just something missing.

The soundtracks were awesome as per the norm.

No matter what, I'm sure it can't be as bad as Castlevania 64 lol I don't know why, but I loved the game back in the day.

As for crackdown, sure I can pick up the game this weekend for cheap.

N64 VERSION, was the best one I played !
