DICE Says 'We Are Not Going Casual' > |

DICE, the Battlefield and Mirror's Edge developer, has reiterated the fact that they are "not going casual." In an interview with VideoGamer, producer Patrick Liu insisted that DICE will continue at what they are good at. The fear that DICE was going too casual came after the announcement of Battlefield 1943, a downloadable XBLA/PSN game, and the re-opening of the Battlefield: Heroes beta, a team Fortress type cartoon styled FPS which is free-to-play. Liu added that DICE is still listening to their fans, and although he cannot say anything just yet, DICE has big plans in the works. No need for the fans to worry, he said."We are definitely still making PC games, we've not forgotten about that. 1943 is announced for PC. Bad Company 2 is announced for the PC, so obviously we got the engine (Frostbite) running on PC. We just recently released Mirror's Edge on PC as well. I would say that we will continue to do what we are best at. We are not going casual, just because that is the trend. We're not good at that. It's not our core focus for the studio."

I wish they would have stayed with the same style of gameplay/rules as BF1942.
