	Fresh word from Konami about the problems people have been having getting into the MGO beta. It seems like we've found the problem...they haven't launched it yet. An announcement will come 4/22 @ 2300PST about when the beta will start, but Konami has been reactive by extending the MGO beta out an additional 5 days. This whole "beta fiasco" thingy sounds familiar; Halo 3 anyone? >Link

Just goes to show how popular the ps3 exclusive MGO is going to be.

If you read the information, blacktiger, you would realize that they never released it at all.

The Halo 3 beta was hampered by bad coding in Crackdown. The game had to be patched before the beta could be downloaded. People with codes from Bungie and MS were still able to obtain the Beta of the game.

MGS, however, just isn't up. Period. No servers went down, no bad coding was used... it just was not up for download.

Based on the newest batch of media, it looks like Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to be like Assassins Creed and Devil May Cry 4 the way that it fails to live up to the hype. Metal Gear Solid 4 is now being criticized for incredibly low-resolution textures and lots of aliasing problems. Programming problems like that may be the sources of this failed launch, too.

Kojima, the Lead Developer of MGS4, makes it clear that the Cell CPU in the Playstation 3 is being used 100% by MGS4, and he says that the games graphics are only one-tenth what he had envisioned because the Playstation 3 hardware did not live up to what Sony originally promised in 2005.

With the CPU being stressed out like that, it will lead to complex situations like this.

well put but a lil misinformed. the beta is there, has been there to download for over a week now, there are screenshots to prove it. i have it, have the update installed and ready to go. rather then the game not being up for download, in this case the servers arent available for access.

interesting... the april 25 date comes from konami themselves. maybe the servers are up but only support a small fraction of the users...

i can confirm that the servers are down. i tried logging in this morning only to receive an "error accessing server" message.
