	A new screen from the Playstation 3 game Lair has been released and it looks amazing. We hope this shows off real time gameplay, the textures look insane. Click on the news title for the screen.

Beautiful.

By the look of the photo. It does have a real nice texture to it. Lets hope the game does look that sharp. If it does than we could be seeing the differences in the Xbox360 and the PS3. Like when the genesis came out it was a 16bit system and everybody was like wow look at this system. Than the SNES came out still 16bit but with more better colors and mode 7 in it and people was just so surprised of how that system looked a 100 times better. Well the same could be said for here if the clarity and detail start looking like the images we have been shown lately.

THEMADBARBER... I Have a Xbox360 and is a big fan of Microsoft. But with all the stuff thats going on with them lately. Fony Sony Gaystation as you put it could capitalize on it. Look I'm a gamer and lets not act like Microsoft has been like god send and loyal to us. If they develop good games I'll buy it plain and simple . The same goes for Sony I really don't care about what system is better than the other. Sh!t I will buy a nintendogo If it had good games for it. So be a happy barber for once and stop putting down Sony's product before it's even released.

The 360 can do the exact same thing ;) You'd think people would know this by now.

Gears of War, ghost recon, elder scrolls or anything else out isn't even the tip of the iceberg for the 360. Well I don't agree with everything barber said, but people looked at fight night for the ps3 and thought the 360 couldn't match it. But the 360 surpassed it, so that is something to keep in mind.

Optaviusx I always respected your opinion. But we can't put Sony down for everything. There has to be something that the system could do better than the 360. Remember it is coming out later than the xbox360. So it has time to improve on the faults the xbox360 has. Trust me I have a Xbox360 and I love it. I hope to be playing it for years to come. But to keep putting down Sony in the comparison part is getting kind of old. We don't know how things are going to shape up. Put Sony down for lying with fake footage or release dates. Even for the price the system is going to cost. But lets not put them down for trying. Because they do try to put the best product out there and that should matter.

Nice shot although obviously fake. The controls on the top left-hand corner and the lifebar on the right-handside to suggest in-game although the angle of the shot proves that this isn't in-game or it would be unplayable.

Gears of War has already achieved this standard and beyond. Particulary the reptilian skin in Gears is better.

Sony tactics this time hidden under internet rumour but clearly another Killzone 2 move.

On closer inspection I've noticed that there are some aliasing issues going on in this pic. Interesting.

I find it funny that we compare un-finished early development stage games with Finalised finished complete games.

Also what and what cannot be achieved on various systems is yet to be known...as there is not a complete PS3, that you can use to compare with. Do not let assumptions become fact, you'll be a fool to fall into that trap.

Anyways 8 months is alot of time to improve from the tidbits we are seeing. Let all remind ourselves we as the public are not getting the full picture yet. Events like E3 are made for that reason, I await E3 to see what things are coming to each console.

You do know most of the gameplay and game engines and demos have been shown to DEVS and Publisher behind closed curtains. These images and tech demos are for the mainstream viewing and presentation.

There shall be more things at E3, which should help our judgement to be more fair but still not final. MS will be pulling out some killer titles to compete, as they are on Second gen of games. Sony has there work cut out but should be a great show. Revo may have some tricks but magic will have to be mind-bogaling.

GeoWolf, don't make me laugh. Factor5 have always made it clear that their videos and screenshots are ALWAYS real-time. So yeah, this may be a "fake" ingame shot, but it's definitely real-time. Oh, and it will only get better.

Have you seen the first trailer with hundreds of dragons flying about? Well, I have yet to see a Gears of War shot with that much action going on. So saying GOW has surpassed Lair is just unbased.

And aliasing issues? Um...want me to point out aliasing in a bunch (most) of 360 games? Even Oblivion has them. Yes, that's right.

@optaviusx: I don't know. I still think the PS3 E3 trailer for Fight Night 3 looks slightly better than the final Xbox360 game. But of course, I don't think there'll be many first-gen PS3 games that will make people wonder about the 360's capabilities. There will be one or two, but not many.

Why does every single screen shot have to be analysed like there is a secret message from god hiden inside of it? The pic looks great, nothing the 360 couldn't do, but that doesn't mean it's not impressive. I'm still holding out to hear what kind of launch games the PS3 will have and how much it's going to cost before I decide to get one now or wait for a price drop.

I agree with Itaintrite. I also felt that the PS3 shot of fight night was better. But that was all footage not game play. So it really doesn't say much

Hello. The screenshot looks great. I'm not downing it, but we all know that can be done on the x360. Sure there's going to be a few minor things that the x360 can do that the PS3 can't & vice versa. So with that in mind, it still comes down to the games. I just want some more great games to play no matter what the system. I just hope the price of the PS3 is reasonable.

Itain there are upwards of 2000 people on screen at once in ninety nine nights alone. If you think e3 ps3 footage for fight night was better I have no choice, but to laugh. The characters on the 360 IN ACTUAL GAMEPLAY are far more detailed and that face ripple effect is just as good on the 360, but in actual gameplay. The 360's actual game of fight night round 3 surpasses the ps3's tech demo compare the ign screens to ANY screens of the 360 game.

Funny to see how people argue that this is obviously faked AND the X360 could bring the same quality. Wouldn't it be better to stick to one side of the downtalking? :)

Finally... a game that lives up to the graphical splender talked about so much when the words "NEXT GEN" get thrown around. This game looks better than anything I've seen thus far. Xbox360 or other ps3 games combined.

Ok I just looked at the bigger screen provided in the link. And as I stated before it looks good, so what’s the fuss all about!? It doesn't look revolutionary, textures look good. It's still early to tell but so far so good. Look peeps the Xbox 360 and PS3 are just tools that in the hands of competent developers will create some good yet equally looking games.

The New PS3 Will be more Powerfull than the 360 and that's that!

I collect game systems and love to play them but this is the second "JAGUAR" system I will not buy until I see it in the goodwill.

With it's higher production costs and year later release date, the PS3 SHOULD be more powerful than the 360, but we'll see in November wont we?

So... people are comparing second batch XBOX 360 games to still in development PS3 titles? Shows how smart those XBOYs are.

Oh and something people keep forgetting. THE RSX ISN'T IN THE DEV KITS YET! Nor is the final Cell. The final reference tool will be released in June. Then and only then will developers have the final PS3. Right now they're working with a 2.4GHz Cell processor and an undisclosed GPU. Now add 800MHz to make the Cell 3.2GHz and the RSX and give developers 5 odd months to polish games and we have a winner.

The developers have final CELL and RSX right now. The upgrade in june only consists of final Blu-ray drive and controller. Thus they have 8 month with the final core system to ensure quality, comparing to 2 month on the x360, which really showed on the launch lineup.

Just wait until the playstation 3 comes out to discuss the games and hardware sides of it all. I cant wait to see the day that all of the Xbox Fanboys go to their Bestbuys a month or two after the ps3 launch because they have given in to the overwelming ps3's capabilities and realize that it doesnt matter about the console or the company who made it, it only matters about the games. I myself do not have an xbox 360, but i enjoy playing it when i can. I Consider buying an XBOX 360 every day because of the launch date for ps3 being so far away, but i know that the games that come out right now for the 360 are not as advanced as they will be by the time the ps3 comes out. Once both systems are out and they have gotten situated in the gaming market, thats when people can argue which is better, because once they launch there is no turning back. PS......3 will be awesome.

I'm sorry but I remember the first time I played the Sega dreamcast I knew it was next gen the games looked alot better than the 1st Playstation.

Not so with the 360 compared with the 1stxbox,Ps2 yes.

I didn't not rush out to buy a PS2 I knew it wasn't that great,but I did want a dvd player:)so a year later I bought one.

I don't trust sony but I do hope they have something better than a 360..lol

I've heard so many people even argue the the PS2 has better graphics than the XBOX 1..People just believe what they want to.

This game looks good. However there isn't enough known about the game to get to excited. While the 360 could render it today it is definutly superior looking to any of the 360s launch titles and shows that the Playstation 3 will be graphically superior though probably not by much. Still I am a sucker for dragons and this game really looks like a killer title for dragon fans.
