Ratchet & Clank PS3 Forces 1.94 PS3 Update, Rumble Support >
2007/10/24 15:06:16: Posted by DM
Imagine our surprise here at GR when we went to play Ratchet & Clank today, up popped a PS3 firmware update message. The on-disc 1.94 update apparently must be installed before you can play the game. The major upgrade? DualShock3 rumble support. If you had the DS3 pad, you coudl play the game with rumble right now! Good to see Sony is moving fast on the rumble feature.

Are rumble controllers even available for the PS3? to buy...
Written by jb33 on 2007/10/24

I thought i seen a cheap 3rd party controller on divineo that had rumble for the PS3. Sony to my knowledge has not released any controllers with rumble in the USA yet. Hopefully they will be out in the USA before Christmas.

MAJOR PROBLEM!!!

If you NEED this Firmware update in order to play this Playstation 3 game, then that means you CANNOT play the game unless you have access to high-speed Internet Broadband connections.

The HUGE problem with this fact is that only 40% of Playstation 3 owners use their system with high-speed Internet connections!

That apparently means only 40% of Playstation 3 owners have the ability to play Ratchet & Clank.

Sony needs to send some sort of FREE disc to people who don't have access to the Internet.

jb33, Sony is NOT planning on releasing the Dual Shock 3 in North America until Spring 2008.

Krogan, the update is actually on the disk. You do not have to be connected to the PSN to update. It will update from the disk, then allow you to play.

hey urdnot, make sure your information is correct before you post. i wouldnt want you to waste precious time copy and pasting your stuff. Sony doesnt need to send a free disc of anything because Ratchet and Clank comes with the v1.94 firmware update. there are people already posting in the playstation.com forums about the new update and how the "turn rumble on/off" has been added when you press the PS button. i guess that lil bit of info was left out by DM ;)

AH! SupremeChaotic, ya beat me to the punch :/

Response to SupremeChaotic:

Thank you for clearing that up. I knew it would be a BIG problem if something like that would not be included on a disc or given to consumers for free in the mail.

Response to incoming00:

My information was correct in the way that I described it. The problem was that I "accidentally" mis-read this page...If you look at the end of the page it says, "On-" and the next line starts as "Disc". I thought for sure that it said "On-" "Line"...not, "On-" "Disc."

Anyways, nobody is happier than me that things are merry!
