Team Ico's New Game To Be Shown 'Soon' > |
2008/08/28 11:31:20: Posted by DM | |
Sony Worldwide studio head Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that they are ramping up to reveal the next Fumito Ueda game (the man behind the team behind Ico and Colossus). No comment right now, of course, but we can expect the first details at the Tokyo Game Show. Considering how unique and fantastic looking Colossus was on the PS2, we cannot wait to see what they have done with the PS3. It could be the first truly killer game on the Sony console.“But I can say that they’ve been working very hard since the release of Shadow of the Colossus. Soon you’ll see.”

I am definitely looking forward to whatever this team puts out. Both ICO and Colossus were excellent titles.

As long as it's not a pre-rendered C-tease, then I'll be happy

yup, those are getting kinda tired and are pretty lame, anyone can do something with CG

Well you're lucky if just now they are getting kinda tired. I've been done with them since last gen. pre-rendered CGI means nothing to me. I'll take the most boring gameplay over the most flashy pre-rendered CGI anytime

what pisses me off, is the fact that they are always shown when the game is a long ways off.why else would anyone bother showing it.its all folly

Well the effects go both ways. We see sony showing videos left and right of games that are not even in development or games that are years away. This gives the ps3 owners some faith towards the (sometimes far) future while also giving reason for the whole "this is waiting" tag line.
On the flip side though, we see Ninty and MS who now try to show games that are within a year's time of release (excluding delays) which is great since we mostly see real time or gameplay videos along with the typical promotional pre-rendered CGI. However the negative effect of this method is the fanboys saying that Ninty or MS doesn't have any games for Year X. The sony fanboys said the 360 didn't have any games for years 07 besides Halo and near the end of 2007 they began to spew about how the 360 just blew it's biggest load and doesn't have anything for 2008 which we see now as completely false. However none of this is stopping them from "recycling the same garbage" (sound familiar) about the 360 in 2009.To the playstation fanboy, every year is "the year of the PS3 +1"

Yawn :-|Back on point, considering how quiet Team Ico has been and the time since their last project was released, I'd assume we'll see something concrete.

^ lol I do have a point though on both sides of the matter. On topic though, I agree that we'll probably see real time footage of whatever they are working on. They don't have a history of showing bullfootage.
