Sony Fixing PS3's Broken By 2.40 Update For Free > |
2008/07/11 8:06:19: Posted by DM | |
Sony will fix your PS32 unit free if the 2.40 update broke your console. According to PS3Fanboy, Sony will repair any console bricked by the update free of charge, although there are supposed to be not that many affected."Our Consumer Services department is working directly with any impacted PS3 users, and, if it's determined that they were affected solely by the 2.40 issue, then their units will be repaired or exchanged at no cost. SCEA stands behind its products and always works to ensure the best possible consumer experience."

Like Sony has a choice. Their update bricked peoples consoles so of course they are liable. Well at least these people are getting thier consoles fixed for free after the FFOD screwed them. Wonder how long they will have to wait to get their consoles fixed?Heres a shout out to the SDF. Sony's not perfect either. You may now officially stop sipping the coolaid.

Great move by Sony to take the initiative...unlike some companies. Pimp..keep drinking your MS koolaid, no need to switch koolaids.

" although there are supposed to be not that many affected. "THAT'S CORRECT !
Since only few percentage has downloaded 2.4 (including me), out of that only few percentage had a PS3 not working, which is better than 33 percent over all 360 RROD.

mine worked fine too... upgraded to 2.41 easily as well. and i love my new PSP my gf gave me for my birthday. i also got Lair for my birthday, and that game is actually pretty good with the new control patch :)

incoming00: Is Lair actually good? I had to stay away from it last year because of the b!tch a$$ b3yond gimmicky 6-axis controls. You know I liked all of Factor Fives Nintendo Star Wars games. So I actually had high hopes for this game before it actually flopped...

ya, its pretty fun... i tried both motion controls and analog controls and the motion control is pretty bad. the game overall is pretty straight forward, but with dragons! lol... the best part is that i can play Lair on my PSP with remote play! i showed my bro the game on my PSP and he was like "didnt i get that for your on the PS3?!" lol.........

I thought Lair was pretty bad even with the patch. Lair just isn't fun to play IMO. I never really had alot of faith in the game though. The graphics are pretty good, but the story and gameplay blows IMO. This game just proves how good Panzer Dragoon was back in the day. Nobody can pull off a dragon game like Sega. My favorite Panzer Dragoon was the first one for the Sega Saturn...Back in the daaaaay...LOL.

jb33: I remember that sh!t. My oldest brother I think was the only person in our small town who owned a Sega Saturn. It was a fun game and console while it lasted...

I remember standing inside of Players Edge with my dad trying to figure out which system to buy and i ended up choosing the Saturn because Sony was so new to the game. Little did i know i made the dumbest decision ever...LOL. Sony soon owned Sega on every level and i had to except my bad choice. The Saturn really did have some great games though. I played Virtua Fighter like it was my job back then. I remember being blown away by the graphics... Things have come a loooong way in 13 years.
