Datel's newest cheating solution for Nintendo's handhelds is called the Action Replay MAX DUO. The MAX DUO is compatible with both the Nintendo DS as well as the Game Boy Advance as it's inserted into the GBA cartridge slot on either system. The device has its own slots for both DS and GBA cartridges, allowing you to have a game in each simultaneously.




The unit itself does not work exactly the same for the GBA and the DS. With GBA games you load the system up in classic Action Replay style, allowing you to input cheats using codes that enable things like infinite health, infinite lives, and unlimited ammo, you konw the standard cheaters repertoire. with DS games the MAX DUO acts more like a save manager. You can download save games on to the DS with things like all items unlocked or fully maxed characters. It does not let you enter codes to cheat in the games directly, you must have a save game downloaded.




The interface for both is pretty straight-forward and very easy to use especially if you have used any of Datel's devices in the past The MAX DUO will automatically recognize GBA games that you have codes entered for, either that you've entered yourself (and started a game with) or downloaded off the internet. When you insert the game the cheats will automatically load, thus saving you time and finger strain, even though the on screen Datel keyboard is easy to use, it still takes time.
