According to the producer of the joint EA/Spielberg Wii game Boom Blox, the legendary movie director's involvement has been much more than just a PR stunt. Spielberg is a "serious games fan," according to Amir Rahimi, senior producer on the Boom Blox Wii project."I was actually pretty surprised to find out how much of a gamer Steven Spielberg is," said Rahimi. "He - regularly, when we meet with him - makes references to games that a lot of us game developers haven't played or haven't played in years. But also recent games, like Crysis, he talks a lot about."

According to this Japanese website, some users may be experiencing the same errors due to the double-layeredness of the Mario Kart disc as they did with Super Smash Brothers. The issue arises from the console not being able to read the disc correctly on some gamer's consoles. No word from Nintendo yet, so rumor mill for now until there is official confirmation.

According to this advertising image and the information we gathered, Nintendo will be re-making a Gamecube shaped pad specifically for use with the Wii. For around $20 USD, you will get the controller, which is still wired, so it is more akin to the classic controller add on. Stay tuned for more info when we have it.*Note: The 3meter wire would indicate that it is wired like an Xbox360 pad. Why they did this can't imagine.

Funny, but it seems the Wii will be getting TV content before the PS3, believe it or not. The BBC iPlayer will be available shortly on the Wii console. The iPlayer offers users content from multiple BBC TV shows and channels, including News 24 and the BBC's radio stations. Sounds like a good start to us. You will have to pay a one-time fee to install the internet channel, the BBC is looking into ways to make it free in future. Nice!
