No Love for Dead Rising Owners with SDTVs >
2006/09/11 16:10:06: Posted by Josh
1up.com reports that in talks with Capcom's Dead Rising dev team, there are no plans to make a patch to relieve the problems with reading the in-game text on SDTVs. That doesn't rule out a plan to fix the disc read errors gamers (myself included) have experienced with the title as well. Now if only they could make the survivors a little smarter...

It's another one of those cases where a few people complain online and everyone thinks it's a major issue.

I suppose, have you yourself tried it on an SDTV via Composite? It's practically impossible to read. I wouldn't call that selective instances.

I've had a few DREs myself but I'm lucky to have an HDTV.

I was planning on buying this game, but not anymore. Why support a company that ignores its customers like that? Im fortunate to have an HDTV, but for those of you who don't...I dunno what to say about this. It's just downright wrong. I think those of you having this issue should ban together and approach the company with some demands--fix it or refund it. Sometimes the legal system is the only way to go. It may seem extreme, but developers need to learn to quit releasing crap like this and then telling the consumer to deal with it.

I just picked the game up today and I love it. I have an HDTV though, so I really don't care about the text problem. If you don't have an HDTV, it sucks to be you.

Well.. everyone knew these consoles had a better experience on hdtvs. These consoles play games at hi def and so people with standard def should be expecting a worse experience, but capcom should still fix the text.

you do know that there's still a shitload of "normal" people with 360s and regular tvs? Yet alone those with EDTvs...

This mistake is still inexcusable, yet not trying to fix it, so far every other 360 game didn't have the problem with Standard television, and still looks good, so why this should be ignored?

This is not a matter of you don't own an HDTV you are shit out of luck, its just about customer sastifaction, thats what makes people buy the 360 and games. Now if there isn't anything up to the customer's sastifaction, they will be surely pist with their hard earn cash.

I"m lucky i got an hdtv, but what about the other poor "normal" saps, even you know thats fucked up in a way.

Thankfully, Capcom has learned from this mistake, and it will not be made in the future. Dead Rising is still an INCREDIBLY FUN game with AMAZING graphics and sound!!!
