Sony Cancels GTHD Retail, Repackages As Demo > |

It seems Sony and Polyphony Digital, the creators of Gran Turismo, have decided to scrap plans for a retail version of GTHD and now plan to release the game as a demo in the PS3 store. The demo, due out December 24 in Japan, will consist of 10 cars and two variations of a single track. GT fans are not going to be happy, then again, this is likely due to the fact that so many have complained that a full GTHD game would have cost in the neighborhood of $300 USD.

They weren't going to be happy anyway w/ having to purchase all of the maps and cars. No big deal really. Put out a full title instead of all of the buy extra to play crap. Really a no win situation for Sony in regards to this.

Im glad this happened, i think Polyphony also knew that Forza 2 would blow GTHD out of the water if it was released. People mixing up GTHD as GT5 would be very popular, and people would say Forza 2 is wayyyyyyy better than GT5 and loss of fans would happen. Im glad Polyphony is just going to go for GT5 instead, that means more concentration on the actual game instead of making demos and making maps and downloadable content, etc.

they should of never done GTHD, they should of started work on the next GT which i'm sure they already have but it could of been further progressed.
