At the end of this Gen...I'd be shocked, but I think the big N may have a chance to pull off the number 1 spot out of the three consoles. Especially if it's anywhere near as popular as their DS. This Gen's gonna definitely be interesting.

It definetly doesn't stand a chance at becoming simply because of many people's obsession with being impressed. Graphics, amazing animation, physics, crazy particle effects etc are all things people are obsessed with and I definetly don't see Nintendo taking #1 because of people's infatuation with graphics. #2 is a possibility, but definetly not #1. I see them taking #1 in japan though.

Without that fairy there is a possibility gaming wouldn't be where it is now :)

People will have higher technical expectations in a home console thats attached to an HD flat panel display (as opposed to the handheld market.) Yes, the Wii games may be fun, but a lot of people will still need to be wowed. Thats why Hollywood keeps churning out craptacular special effects laden movies.

Having said that, ZTP and Mario Galaxy look great. Red Steel isnt so nice compared to the next gen comparable.

optaviusx.. You're right I don't see it being #1. But I do see the Wii causing alot of problems for the PS3 this Holiday. I for one rather buy a Wii than a PS3 first. Which if the Wii do come out early I'm going to purchase one. Sony is going to have a tough time this year if the system comes out.

I dont know, For one... I STILL dont have a HD tv. I have a nice tv and all, Just not HD. Im planning on trying to make the move this summer since i seem to be a little behind the times in the television area. I did however order a 360 vga cable this week, So i will see what the fuss is all about.
